Fresh Peach Sorbet
Fresh Peach Sorbet
It's summer time and that means fresh peaches. I am lucky because my brother-in-law manages a peach farm in the summer and pecans in the fall. I love making lots of peach dishes but I wanted some sorbet. Most of the recipes that I found had way too much sugar in them. I am trying to cut down on sugar so I thought I wouldn't be able to find one that would work. And then I found it! One from Taste of Home. Can you believe that there are only 4 ingredients? It turned out so yummy.
I ended up making three batches because hubby kept eating it. After all it was Father's Day.
Here is the recipe to make your own Peach Sorbet:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 4 medium ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
- In a saucepan, combine the water, sugar and lemon juice. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Cool slightly; transfer to a blender.
- Add the peaches; cover and process until smooth. Fill cylinder of ice cream freezer; freeze according to manufacturer's directions. Transfer sorbet to a freezer container; cover and freeze for 4 hours or until firm.
What could be better than some refreshing sorbet on a hot summer day? So go and grab some peaches and enjoy!!!

So lucky with fresh peaches! I don't think I've ever had a super fresh peach actually...they don't grow near us! I love the lower sugar in this recipe.
ReplyDeleteSuchot,
DeleteI can see why you have never had great fresh peaches, the ones in the store are usually terrible - hard as rocks and no flavor. You might be better off using frozen ones in this recipe. What's your address?
Hugs,
Bev
Hi Bev! I live in Winnipeg, Canada :)
DeleteSuchot,
DeleteI had no idea your lived there. Oh no they don't send peaches to Canada. I was hoping to send you some.
Sorry,
Bev
That's so sweet of you to even think of that. ❤️❤️❤️
DeleteI had no idea sorbet was that easy to make. It's sounds so fancy LOL.
ReplyDeleteAllyson,
DeleteIt really is amazing how easy it is to make sorbet. Sad part is I don't make it that often. I think now that I have so many peaches, I will make more and keep it int he freezer.
Have a lovely day.
Hugs,
Bev
