Thursday Favorite Things
Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things!
Happy Thursday! Here we are with only two days left of July. August is approaching and I know we have talked about this before, but August means the beginning of school or at least it sort of does. Schools start dates are being delayed, the type of education being offered has changed - multiple choices, and each country is doing something different. What a crazy time. I feel for all of you with kids in school and having to make all of these decisions. It can't be easy. I'm sure you will make the right choice for your family.

Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop
Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop
Happy Wednesday! Well, here we are in the last party of July. Despite the covid-19 virus, this summer is flying by. I actually saw fall and Halloween decorations at the Dollar Tree the other day. Yikes, I am not ready for that. The weather is still hot here so it is hard to think of fall, by the time I am thinking of fall, it is usually over since the rest of the country is thinking of winter.
Are you thinking of fall yet? Or maybe Christmas? After all it is Christmas in July. I usually buy gifts throughout the year, but not this year. I am delighted to hear that many stores have followed Walmart's lead and are closing for Thanksgiving. I think it is great for people who work in retail, at least that is my opinion. What are your thoughts?

You're The Star - Home Feature Week
Welcome to You're The Star - Home Feature Week
Happy Monday. Can you believe that this is the last week in July? Yikes, summer is flying by and it seems as though the north is experiencing Florida weather. Hubby had 94 degrees in Vermont yesterday. Are you having hot weather? If you follow me, you might have seen that I have a sick doxie on my hands. He is doing better but he still has a long way to go. Taking care of him, means I don't get much done. I usually go for walks or work out, but I need to keep him quiet and he wants to be beside me so that's what I am doing.

Lemon Blueberry Scones
Lemon Blueberry Scones
I must admit that I have no will power when it comes to scones. I don't care what flavor they are, they are just so yummy. When I was teaching, we had a cafe bar downstairs that always had scones and of course. most days I was down there buying one. Now, I try not to eat many scones but once in awhile, I just want one. Are you a scone addict like me?

Over The Moon Linky Party
Welcome to Over The Moon Linky Party
Happy Sunday everyone. I hope your weekend has been great. Mine was rather stressful since our doxie - Louie had a bad weekend. I had to take him to the vet on Friday because he was having problems with his back. Dachshunds are notorious for back problems. He is restricted to what he can do, since damage, if not take care of, can result in paralysis. He is in a crate and I have to carry him outside to go to the bathroom and back in. I carry him around a lot. Although he is only 18 pounds, he gets heavy after a while.
He is doing much better today but you can't forget that it can take 4 - 6 weeks for full recovery. At least it looks as though he will not have to have surgery.
My favorite part of these parties is reading your comments. I feel like I get to know you and that we are almost like "texting" back and forth. You share your stories with me and I share mine - just like friends. So keep them coming.

Hello my friends. I hope Your weekend is going well. Mine has been difficult. I am dealing with a very sick dachshund. Dachshunds are notorious for having back problems and that is where I am with my boy, Louie. it started on Thursday and by Friday morning he was not able to come up a small step from the garage. I rushed him to the vet and she confirmed that the situation was serious.
She sent me home with meds and instructions to NOT let him walk at all. I had to crate him and pick him up to take him out to the bathroom and then carry him back in. It has been a crazy few days, but he seems a little better tonight. Needless to say, I don't get much done but take care of him. He is my baby boy so I am fine taking him. They are our babies and steal our hearts.

Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things!
Happy Thursday! Can you believe that there are only 9 more days in this month? This summer is flying by. August will be here soon. Usually, as August approaches, that means school will be starting. I don't know about where you are, but schools have postponed the start date until the end of August. They have also given parents the opportunity to choose what type of education they want for their children.
What is happening in your area? I know that this must be a difficult situation for parents. I am glad that I no longer have kids in school. it certainly is a different scenario.

Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop!
Hello my bloggy friends. I hope you are all doing well. Heat is still high here. What about were you are? Here in Florida, August is still our hottest month so we still have that to look forward to.
Hubby is still out of town helping our son with some projects so I am here doing my own projects. I miss him but it is nice to have some time to myself. Is it just women that need time alone or do men like it as well? What are your feelings on that subject? Do you enjoy time by yourself?
Our hosts just want to say THANK YOU to all those who contributed to last week's party and WELCOME to all the new bloggers who have joined our weekly blog hop. Please invite your blog friends and social network to join us.

You're The Star - Family Feature Week
Welcome to You're The Star - Family Feature Week
Happy Monday my friends. I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was interesting. It seems that every time hubby goes away for a trip, something weird happens. Two years ago, I broke my foot when he left.
Our pool has been working just fine every day since it was put in. Yesterday, I noticed that there was some water around the pump and saw that a valve on the filter was leaking a little. Called hubby and he told me what to do. Unfortunately, when I started the system back up, it wouldn't work. He had me go though all of these things and still nothing. I worked for hours, nothing. Water is not cycling into the pool and the fountain is not working either. Why now? Fortunately, our pool guy is coming tomorrow. Let's hope all is well.

White Wreath for Vintage Ladder
White Wreath for Vintage Ladder
Normally, when the holidays come, I see so many posts showing lovely pom pom wreaths. I always want to make one, but it seems that the holidays come and go and I don't get one made. So, I decided to make one early. (It is Christmas in July after all, right)
I have a vintage ladder in the spare bedroom and thought a wreath would look nice on it. So I decided to make a white one. Partly because it would go with the quilts on the ladder and partly because I had white yarn.
Although I liked it, the all white wreath seemed blah! Maybe I should have made it more random or used another color. How could I fix this? I had no other pom pom yarn that would work so I looked in my finer yarn basket. I use these ones for crocheting doilies. I picked out a beige one and then mixed the two yarns together to make new pom poms.
These new pom poms have just enough color in them to dress up the white wreath. I added a few here and there and I was happy. What do you think? Do you like the plain white wreath or the addition of a the beige pom poms?

Happy Sunday dear friends. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours was good even if it was quiet hot. Looks like we might get some relief this week. That would be great. We worked on some yard projects, pulled weeds and pruned some hedges. After that it was pool time.
How was your weekend? Any new projects on the horizon? I am working on one and hope to have it done this week. I can't wait to share it with you.

Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a great weekend. Ours has been hot but I see that it has been hot up north as well. It meant a lot of pool time. I am still sewing. I have three pillows done with two more to go. I then have to make some drapes
and that project will be done.
Do you have a project that you are working on? Any sewing projects? I did finish another DIY project but I need to get the pictures done and get the post ready. Too busy sewing. lol!

Thursday Favorite Things
Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things!
Happy Thursday! I hope you woke to a glorious day. I certainly did. I was busy yesterday sewing. I am working on a "comforter/spread" for a day bed. The dogs were playing outside, actually barking outside. Dachshunds were born to hunt and mine live up to that. They love to hunt geckos and when they see one they go crazy and start barking and keep barking. They can go on hours an hour. Sometimes, I have to bring them in(usually by offering a treat) just so they can relax, especially in this heat.
Do you have any dog stories?

Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop!
Hello dear friends. I hope you are all doing well. All is good in my world. They had to take our motor home into the shop today. /We had something that decided to chew on some of our electrical wires so we lost lights, air conditioning and we don't know what else. We assume mice, but not sure it geckos chew on wires or not. We had lots of stuff to keep them out but since we could not go anywhere lately, I guess they had a field day. So for now, it is in the shop.
Hubby also left today for Vermont to help our son build a deck and a lean too for the barn. He is driving and will take several days to get there. Stopping at his brothers in Georgia and then a day or two at our place in the mountains in West Virginia. It will just be me and the dogs.

Fresh Peach Cobbler
Fresh Peach Cobbler
Well, as you may know, I brought back lots of peaches from the farm. I made peach hand pies and now it was time for peach cobbler. I am not sure if peach cobbler or peach pie is hubby's favorite dessert, but he does love them.

Thursday Favorite Things
Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things!
Happy Thursday! I hope you are all doing well. We are having a lot of rain here in central Florida, but then again, it is hurricane season when the rain usually comes. The nice part is that it usually only rains for a few hours and then the sun comes out. My garden seems to love it.
How is your weather? I know that up north the temperatures have been quite hot. Mu Mom said it was to be 94 in Pittsburgh today. That is actually hotter than here in Florida. They did say that the north would be much hotter this summer. Those of you up north, is that the case? Well, wherever you are, I hope you are enjoying your summer.

Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop!
I am so glad you stopped by today. I hope you are all doing well. I know some of you are back to work and have sort of resumed your normal routine. Mine seems to be about the same as it was before, but hubby is getting a little antsy. He wants to go somewhere, but not sure where.
He is rather disappointed that he can't take the motor home somewhere. I have no desire to be around so many people. Many of the KOAs and parks are packed. Not interested, I just want to stay home and be safe.
Has anyone out there gone camping lately?

Fresh Peach Hand Pies
Fresh Peach Hand Pies
It is peach season in Georgia. On our trip to the farm last week, (you can read about that here) we brought home so many peaches. Now it was time to make stuff with peaches. First up was some peach hand pies. I have a few peaches that were ripe and needed to be used soon, so hand pies came to mind. Little pockets of "yumminess".

Over The Moon Linky Party
Welcome to Over The Moon Linky Party
Happy Sunday dear friends. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We had a rather quiet one, just hubby and me mostly. My daughter came over Friday and today for dinner. I spent most of the weekend working on peaches. I made lots of things with the peaches we brought back from the farm. I will be sharing some of my recipes soon. Right now, I don't even want to look at a peach and I still have more left.
How was your weekend? Most of the places around here cancelled fireworks but it seems that many bought their own since we heard lots of fireworks going off last night. What about in your area?

Happy 4th of July to everyone in the USA and happy summer to all! It seems as though the rest of the U.S is having a lovely holiday weekend but here in Florida it has been raining. I can't complain since we needed the rain and it gives me some time to do things indoors.
We are having a quiet weekend just hubby me and my daughter. Nothing special going on here. What are you plans for this weekend?
