DIY Dollar Tree Spring Wreath
DIY Dollar Tree Spring Wreath
Since I am anxiously waiting for spring so I decided to make a spring wreath. I wanted it for my back door since we come in that door all the time. I also could not be too fat, since we have a screen door and it would squash it.
I saw these wooden bead wreaths at Dollar Tree and thought this would be perfect. Next, I had to get some sullies for it.
I found pink and purple ribbon and some flowers. I choose ones that were small in design since the wooden wreath was not large.
The first thing I did was to separate all of the flowers. I used a pair of snips to do this. I used two dark purple, one light purple and two pink flowers for each set. I wrapped each set with twine to hold them together.
Once I had each set done, I used some more twine to join both sets together. I cut off any extra stems that I didn't need so it would ly flat.
I attached the flowers to the beaded wreath form. I used twine to tie the flowers onto the back of the beaded form.
Finally, I made a bow using the two ribbons. However, they looked better in the package than when I took it off the roll. They were very sheer and you could not tell the difference in their color, but I had already bought it and used it anyway. I tried several other ribbons with them, but nothing worked.

White Wreath for Vintage Ladder
White Wreath for Vintage Ladder
Normally, when the holidays come, I see so many posts showing lovely pom pom wreaths. I always want to make one, but it seems that the holidays come and go and I don't get one made. So, I decided to make one early. (It is Christmas in July after all, right)
I have a vintage ladder in the spare bedroom and thought a wreath would look nice on it. So I decided to make a white one. Partly because it would go with the quilts on the ladder and partly because I had white yarn.
Although I liked it, the all white wreath seemed blah! Maybe I should have made it more random or used another color. How could I fix this? I had no other pom pom yarn that would work so I looked in my finer yarn basket. I use these ones for crocheting doilies. I picked out a beige one and then mixed the two yarns together to make new pom poms.
These new pom poms have just enough color in them to dress up the white wreath. I added a few here and there and I was happy. What do you think? Do you like the plain white wreath or the addition of a the beige pom poms?

Fall Sunflower Wreaths
New Sunflower Wreaths
While we were in Vermont, the weather was cool and I got into the fall spirit. So when I came home, I decided to update the plain green moss wreaths that were left on my front doors.
I thought about buying new ones, but figured I could just add flowers and they would be fine and I was right. You have to use what you have.
