Strawberries and Sunflowers
Strawberries and Sunflowers
Today was such a beautiful day that we decided to pick some strawberries. So my daughter, my sister-in-law and I went berry picking. We found a new place near my daughter's house. We each decided to pick one bucketful - that held around 5 - 6 pounds of strawberries.
They said we could pick berries anywhere we wanted, so off we went. Some others were picking so we headed away from them. I didn't take my phone so I couldn't take pictures but my SIL had hers so she took a few. Strawberry plants were everywhere.
I have picked lots of berries in my day, but these strawberries were the sweetest strawberries I have ever tasted. They were huge. They said all of the warm weather and no rain has made them huge and delicious. As you looked at the rows, you could see all of the red berries. it was amazing. Grabbing our first strawberries.
We each managed to pick about 5 1/2 pounds of strawberries.
After they weighed them, they put them into plastic containers. We each had 3 of them.
They also had a large field of sunflowers that we could pick. They were $2 each of you could take a mason jar, which they provided, and fill it with as many flowers as would fit in the jar.
We picked many smaller ones to fit into the mason jar. In the end, I had 19 sunflowers in there. My daughter and I decided to split our flowers and my SIL had her own jar.
So we had something yummy for our tummy and something beautiful for my table.

Fall Sunflower Wreaths
New Sunflower Wreaths
While we were in Vermont, the weather was cool and I got into the fall spirit. So when I came home, I decided to update the plain green moss wreaths that were left on my front doors.
I thought about buying new ones, but figured I could just add flowers and they would be fine and I was right. You have to use what you have.
