It's Soup Time on HIH

It's Soup Time on HIH

Happy New Year Everyone, hard to believe another year has passed us by and 2026 is upon us. There has been so many great features shared with us every week and I truly hope Y’all continue sharing into 2026.For a New Year I am trying something new for theme focus.

For this week, celebrating all that is winter and to deal with all the snow and cold, I chose a Soup theme. Is there anything better than a hearty soup to ward off the chill.

A fresh soupy start, and as I mentioned last week January is back to me, A Labour of Life. So Let's see what you have been up to.

Southern Great Northern Beans With Leftover Ham Bone

These Great Northern Beans with Leftover Ham Bone are close to soup or stew, thick and creamy, just what comfort food is all about!

Kay from Old School Cooking! tells us her Mother was an old-school cook who made use of the simple conveniences available at the time. She used the ham bone to build the flavor of the beans and followed up with salt and pepper to taste, resulting in pure comfort food at its best.

Instant Pot Beef Barley Soup Quick and Delicious

Flour on my Face shares Beef Barley Soup with a thick and rich broth full of flavor made in a pressure cooker.

Slow Cooker Hamburger Soup Recipe

This Hamburger Soup in the Slow Cooker from 3Boys and a Dog is a favorite of over 50 ground beef recipes in their arsenal of yummy belly fillers! You can adapt the ingredients to better fit your family.

A Hearty Winter Minestrone You’ll Make All Season

Make a pot of winter minestrone filled with rich broth, tender veggies, and pasta. It’s wholesome, satisfying and the best cold-weather food.

Creamy Chicken Parmesan Shell Soup

Let’s talk about the kind of soup that doesn’t just warm you up — it revives your soul. The kind that makes your kitchen smell like an Italian restaurant and a cozy cabin had a delicious little baby. The kind that makes your family wander in asking, “WHAT is that smell?” even though you literally just sautéed onions and garlic like the domestic goddess you are.

This Creamy Chicken Parmesan Shell Soup is exactly that kind of recipe.

Happy New Year from HIH

Happy New Year from HIH

Happy New Year Everyone, hard to believe another year has passed us by and 2026 is upon us. I hope your holiday season was wonderful. Mine was so good, I forgot to post the party last night. :)

There has been so many great features shared with us every week and I truly hope Y’all continue sharing into 2026.

A fresh start, January is back to me, A Labour of Life. So Lets see what you have been up to.

Bubbly New Year’s Eve Table Décor

First off, surprise, I am starting my year off with a pretty Tablescape.

Anne's Entitled Life listed this as New Year’s Eve but it can be used at any party where you have a bar, engagement parties, weddings, Mardi Gras, Roaring 20S Party, the list is endless.

This is super easy to make. You are using leftover Christmas ornaments, an old floral container, and an old candlestick. If you do not have items to upcycle, look for an oversized martini glass, or champagne glass at your local party supply store and use that.

Surprisingly Simple Hot Chocolate Bar for the Holidays and Beyond

An organized Season brings something food and fun for the New Year. Have you been wanting to set up a hot chocolate bar but are not sure where to begin? We’re sharing simple steps to put together a festive station and providing free labels you can use!

Crock Pot Cherry Jalapeno Meatballs

Easy Crock Pot Cherry Jalapeno Meatballs is a sweet and spicy holiday appetizer recipe perfect for all your holiday parties. Flour on my Face sure caught my attention.

One Pan Lemon Chicken and Rice Recipe Made Simple

For this recipe The Recipe Idea Shoppe uses long-grain rice, tender chicken, and a beautiful blend of lemon zest, Parmesan cheese, and classic Mediterranean spices like oregano and thyme. The result is a wonderfully creamy, rich, and tangy dish that tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen.

French Onion Meatloaf

Rounding out our almost Foodie week is a French Onion Meatloaf from More or Less Cooking. A cozy and delicious variation of a traditional recipe. I blend juicy ground beef with a handful of ingredients, featuring the essential French onion soup spice blend. Bake this delectable dish that will fill your kitchen with incredible aromas and have your family rush to the dinner table!
