DIY Winter Wonderland On a Sled Tray
DIY Winter Wonderland On a Sled Tray
With Christmas around the corner, there are so many items that can be used to create a Winter Wonderland tray for your home. Sometimes these items can come from things you already have, from your yard, something you make, from the Dollar Tree or a combination of these. My Winter Wonderland Tray is a combination of all of these.
If you are stopping by from Master Pieces of My Life, MaryJo created that lovely tiered silver tray with Christmas baubles and organic elements. So beautiful.
I am so happy to be joining Katherine, from Katherine’s Corner for a delightful event, a, “Winter Wonderland On a tray tour”.
About my tray:
I had several trays that I could have used for this project, but I saw a sled and decided that I wanted to make one for myself and use it as my tray. And so I did!
I have a post that teaches you how to make the sled. Click here to see that tutorial.
Once the sled was made, I needed to add some items to it. I started with a metal bucket.
I thought of different fabric to put around the bucket and then decided to make something different than a Christmas fabric. I gathered some black/tan checked fabric and some rusted bells. I stitched the bells onto the fabric strip.
I have not gotten my Christmas decorations out yet, so out into the back yard I go for some greenery.
Now, what else to put on my sled? I made this JOY decor for the front of the sled. I will also post on how to make these.
Please click over to My Hubbard Home, to continue the tour. Rachelle has a beautiful tray to share with you. Thank you!
Enjoy the Tray Blog Tour!

Love the idea of using a sled for a tray. It definitely ushers in the holiday season and brings to mind many days spent sliding down a snowy covered hill. The blocks are such a nice touch.

Bev, I live how you used a little sled as a tray. Very creative. The fresh greenery goes so well with it. Happy Holidays.
DeleteThat was a great idea to use a sled as your tray! I have different sized sleds from thrift stores waiting for makeovers, so I'll have to keep this in mind. You still have beautiful greenery there in Florida. Ours is all crunchy looking LOL.
ReplyDeleteAllyson,
DeleteYes, a sled was my perfect tray for Christmas. I look forward to seeing how you makeover your sleds. Yes, we still have lots of greenery. I don't have any pine trees on my property but they are on the neighbors. I guess I will have to steal from them.
Hugs,
Bev
