Peas and Pancetta Side Dish with Fresh Parmesan
Peas and Pancetta Side Dish with Fresh Parmesan
I don't know about you, I love to find different sided dishes. Peas are one of our favorite vegetables and we also love pancetta, so this seemed to be a great combination.
Many of these side dishes add onions to them and although I love onions, my stomach does not. So no onions in my dish, I added some fresh Parmesan cheese on top.
To make this dish even easier to make, I found already chopped pancetta. It was at our local grocery store and it was a two pack. I was so excited about finding this. I put a tablespoon of olive oil in the pan and sauteed the pancetta. Meanwhile I cooked the peas.
For the peas, I used a steam in bag and cooked it for about 2 minutes and then added it to the pancetta that had been sauteing in the pan. I added a little salt and black pepper.
When it was done, I added some fresh grated Parmesan cheese on the top.
This made a lovely side dish and was easy to prepare. You can add onions to yours or bacon if you don't have pancetta.
