Earth Day Art - Get the Kids Involved
Simple nature items can be used to create Earth Day Art. Head on outside to gather sticks, grasses, seeds, leaves or any thing else the kids might want for their picture.
Here is what I started with - leaves, grasses, ferns and flowers.
I used hot glue to secure my pieces to card stock, but you can let the little kiddos use glue. You can also use colored paper or any backing for your picture.
If you need some inspiration, check out Andy Goldsworthy, Artist/naturalists. "His goal is to understand nature by directly participating in nature as intimately as he can. He generally works with whatever comes to hand: twigs, leaves, stones, snow and ice, reeds and thorns."
Here is an example of one of his art creations - green circle.
The kids can get so creative with their pictures. When they are done, I am sure you will want to frame them.
