Fall Mantel with Glass Acorns
Fall Mantel with Glass Acorns
When we got back from our trip up north, I tried to get the house ready for fall and Halloween. I thought of many ways to decorate the mantel but I wanted it to last past Halloween. So I decided not to add any Halloween specific decor.
The old window came from a house in Georgia that was built in 1908. The star was made from barbed wire that my grandson and I gathered from their property.
These battery operated lights have small mason jars that light up.
The string of glass acorns also came from Georgia. I found them in a little shop on St. Simons Island. I fell in love with them and they were even on sale.
Here is a close up of one of the acorns. Each one is a little different.
In this picture I hadn't added the little pumpkins, but thought a few pumpkins would just make it better. I am still not sure what to do with this fireplace. I am not fond of the brown color and want to either paint it or white wash it. For now, I am living with it.
