Chalkboards are a favorite of mine - so I just had to make one for Christmas this year!
Field trips in December take on a much more exciting anticipation than usual. The everyday museum tour becomes a magical Christmas celebration. Field trips, free or paid, are just better in December. Even though homeschoolers may spend more time at home, taking a few field trips will be worth the trip.
My kids have always enjoyed having an Advent Calendar for keeping track of the days left until Christmas! A Christmas Countdown Calendar is a great way to keep add some enjoyment to the anticipation of the holiday. This year we worked together to make a DIY Advent Calendar that we can re-use year after year.
Pillows Out Of A Table Runner
Fabi Fabu
Hi Friends!
Going the thrifty route for Christmas decor, I got this idea from Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chick, after reading her post on how to easily make a pillow from a table runner. This year my decorations are frugal, from garage sale ornaments or by reusing what I have from previous years. You know how thrifty I am and I love it! Can you believe that I was able to make 3 pillows for the living room sofa, out of a dining room doubled sided table runner? For only $9.99, the price of the runner. This project is super easy and fast!
Nap Time Craft: Cake Stand Tutorial
Reviews, Chews and How-tos
A few weeks ago I finally made it to the Dollar Store (after trying to go there for a good two years now - here at Fort Irwin, we live very far away from everything!).
As I was wandering down those isles of amazingly cheap items I remembered a Pinterest post that crossed my path a few years ago and the memory of a Cake Stand with Dollar Store items popped back in my mind.
Today I had planned to post another DIY play food tutorial but since I haven't finished drafting the pattern yet, I decided to go with this pencil case I created couple of weeks ago and then never got round to share.
Since Christmas is fast approaching, it's a perfect idea for a homemade gift or stocking stuffer for all art lovers (works well for knitting needles or crochet hooks too if you have a knitter or a crochet lover in the family).
The counter is lined with ingredients to create our holiday desserts! We are baking and creating to have sweet desserts to serve and to share!
This year we are creating mason jar desserts for the perfect individual dessert to share with our family, friends, and neighbors!
This past year has been a whirlwind of activity for us. We became full time RV’ers in April and spent quite a bit of the year in Maine, along the east coast, and now in Florida. While in Maine, I looked for a fun Christmas ornament that would represent our time there and never really could find something that truly fit. So, why not make my own?
Wet n Wild's Mega Last Nail Colors will give you "all the results of going to the nail salon but without the hassle. The driving, the sitting, the waiting, the forced small-talk, and especially the pricey manicurist bills? Forget it! Looking salon pampered just got easier! These 5 day chip-resistant nail polish formulas are just so darn great, they deliver a professional look that is far easier to get."
The other day I attended a Cookie Exchange Party. We all were asked to bring a breakfast/brunch dish to share and I brought this delicious Candy Cane Cream Cheese Danish. It was so easy and delicious. I love using crescent rolls to make delicious treats! This Candy Cane Danish looked great on the buffet with all the other yummy food.
Our Strawberry Actually gets it’s name from the not so impressive movie Love Actually (2003). And although the film was given many rotten tomatoes, our strawberry and vanilla ice cream infused with shards of crushed candy cane then topped with Ghiradelli Peppermint Bark is all Yule Tide and Noel. We’re talking rich ice cream flavors here and perfectly paired with the number one Christmas flavor of all time. Peppermint!
Being a new mom can be tough on the soul, and these comforting scriptures for new moms are perfect for boosting your spirits. You’re tired and just want to get things back to normal. In fact, you may not even have time to pray anymore. You’re busy taking care of that little one 24/7. Here are some comforting scriptures for new moms that will encourage and help you connect with God, even when you feel disconnected.
With Thanksgiving tomorrow everyone is going to be firing up the kitchen and cooking their little souls out. I say souls, because cooking ALL DAY is seriously draining. All I want to do by the end is take a nice big bite out of a dessert and then hibernate through the winter. That prompted me to experiment in the kitchen by coming up with a tasty dessert for our family dinner tomorrow. I came up with this Stuffed Peppermint Chocolate Crescents recipe. It’s so good and easy that we’ve partnered with Pillsbury to help us share the recipe with you.
Thanksgiving may be over, but there are still plenty of opportunities for snackin'.
There are football games, holiday parties and celebrating the new year. Lots of opportunities to serve appetizers. And, before you know it, there will be a blizzard and time in front of the fireplace
with snacks and a glass of wine...which, by the way, makes snow shoveling much, much easier. Ha!
So keep this one in your repertoire. It's a keeper all season long.
One of the best things of the holidays is all the delectable treats. I look cookies, chocolate, and candy so I decided to combine all of those together and make these Holiday Candy Cookie Pops!
Make a festive Snowflake Silverware Holder for each place setting at your holiday table.
After the celebration is over, guests can take it home and use the potholder in their own kitchen.
These lovely Farmhouse Style Christmas Stockings are not only adorable, but you won’t believe how simple they were to whip up!
