It never fails to amaze me how a little imagination and paint can transform something pretty rough and plainly ugly! I have had this very rough wood tool caddy for a long time. I have used it as is when I wanted a more primitive look. I love the black and white check look. Take a peek at how this ugly caddy was transformed!
I am loving all this free air conditioning!
I sleep so much better with the windows open. Even the early morning hooting owls don't seem to bother me. Snuggled underneath the covers, it's almost too hard to get out of bed in the morning. Almost....
But, when I know there are Cinnamon Apple Scones for breakfast...
it makes getting up a whole lot easier!
One thing I have noticed around our house is we have jars, lots and lots of jars. Canning jars, baby food jars, even large pickle jars we have hung onto. So what do you do with so many jars? You make crafts out of them of course!
And what could be more cute then these "Mummy Jars!" They are easy to make and add a splash of fun to any Halloween setting. This craft is so simple, even very little children can make one. So let's get ready to make a few (or more!)
If you are a fan of pumpkin pie, you will find these Pumpkin Pie Cupcakes to be a perfect spin on the traditional dessert. Pumpkin pie in the form of a cupcake. All the same great flavors just without the crust. Just add on a dollop of whipped cream for a perfect individual fall dessert.
Even though it is hard to get into fall, I have made another fall craft using Dollar Tree floral, bells and ribbon. I had my husband keep this rake after the wooden handle broke. I’m sure he thought I was crazy :). I sort of forgot about it, until I saw something similar on Pinterest. I dug it out of the shed and went to Dollar Tree to by some fun little goodies. Here is what I bought: 5 stems of feathers and flowers, a string of acorn bells and a roll of ribbon.
Looking for a unique recipe to use up some Zucchini from the garden? Check out our delicious Chocolate Zucchini Cake and Cherry Mini Trifle recipe. You will be sure to love these, they are extremely moist, loaded with cherry pie filling and lots of fresh zucchini! What is your favorite zucchini recipe?
I’m all about the candy corn. Truth is, though, I think it’s just the look that I really love. I mean, those hard, weirdly waxy little candies don’t taste all that great to me, but something about eating them one layer at a time is sublimely satisfying. So this Halloween, instead of sucking down pounds of candy, I’m going to make this Candy Corn Fudge. It’s got those amazing layers, has all the gorgeous colors of fall, plus, it’s fudge. Oh so fudge. Enjoy!
Today I made a quick and easy pumpkin butter full of good spices and sweeteners. I like to make mine rich with spices so I add in a little extra. This recipe is amazing on toast or drizzled over breakfast pancakes and french toast. You can even use it as a topping on vanilla ice cream or cakes. If you love pumpkin like I do, you have to give my recipe for Spiced Pumpkin Butter a try. Grab these ingredients from your pantry and let’s get started!

Happy Weekend everyone! Would you all like a piece of pumpkin cake? Well I have this recipe to share with you that is super easy to make and perfect for fall.
We went to visit family this weekend and I baked this pumpkin cake to bring and everyone loved it. It is a combination of cake and pie in one.
With Halloween around the corner it’s time to put those empty milk boxes in your recycling bin to good use and turn them into a fun cardboard Halloween town. This is a toy for young kids, so there are no spooky elements, though a friendly ghost (is there such thing as friendly ghosts?!) might show up at night, but this is totally up to you.
