Updated Red Wooden Bucket
Updated Red Wooden Bucket
I have had this bucket in the garage since we moved here almost 6 years ago. I pick it up and then put it back on the shelf. So I finally said, do something with it.
The biggest problem that held me back for using it was the fact that I didn't like the color of it. It had this reddish color to it. I don't know if you can see it well but it looked almost cheap.
Sanding removed that red paint and left a nice brown bucket. I love the character it has now. Why I didn't do this sooner, I don't know.
I added some antiquing wax to the outside. I brushed it on and then used a paper towel to wipe off excess.
Then I had to think about what to put in it. I had these three rolling pins in the garage and the wooden piece I got at a flea market. Some greenery and a crocheted piece.
I put the bucket out on the Lanai on my railroad cart. I was so happy to get it out of the garage and actually use it.

What a great piece, Bev. Very smart to use the sandpaper to bring out the great "wood" color. I even like the red tint. Also just love that railroad cart!
ReplyDeleteDebra,
DeleteThanks. I just didn't like the red on the outside. Inside OK. I love the railroad cart too.
Hugs,
Bev
