No Longer Puppies
Is there nothing cuter than little puppies? Those cute little bodies, sweet eyes, and rolly polly bodies. They just make you want to hug them to death. Look at the face on this cutie.
She first arrived in December 2017. At 8 weeks old, she stole our hearts.
If you are not familiar with this breed of dog, she is an English Massiff. Even at 8 weeks, she is around 25 pounds.
Check out her paws? She is going to be a big girl. At 5 months she is close to 65 pounds. Massiff's are considered the largest breed in the world and can weigh 220 pounds or more. They are gentle giants. Biggest problem is that large breeds such as these have a shorter lifespan - 8 - 10 years.
At full grown this girl weighs in at 180 pounds.
You can see that same darkness on her face as when she was a puppy. Her dark color reaches up to her eyes. This one is Jules.
This one is Buttercup. She is 6 months older than Jules and her face doesn't have the dark color all the way up to her eyes.
They are best buddies and love playing together and especially swimming in the pond. Their heads are quite large.
They are great with kids, but you need to be careful, because their shear size can knock little ones over. Sometimes Jules thinks she is a lap dog and tries to sit on my lap when I am on the floor. Yikes!
Since their paws are so large, when they step on you, you know it. And where do they like to sleep? Well, you can see that a couch is a favorite place.
Or on hot days, the ground feels nice.
Sometimes, they just lie on the floor with their toy in her mouth.
Well, they are no longer puppies, but still very sweet. These dogs belong to my son and I only get to see them when I visit like now. If you have ever thought about having a big dog, these are quite special. Do your homework before getting a dog to see if they fit your needs.
