Unifying Mismatched Drawer Pulls - Page 1
Steps to unify mismatched drawer pulls:
1. Paint all of the drawer pulls with the same paint. I used a brown Rustoleum since they were going in the barn.
2. Let the paint dry.
3. Use a glue gun to adhere the jute to the back of the drawer pull.
4. Once it is dry, begin wrapping the jute around the drawer pull handle. (This one was not painted)
5. When you reach the other end, hot glue the jute to the back like you did in Step 3.
6. Complete Steps 1 through 5 for the remaining drawer pulls.
7. Time to install them on the cabinet doors.
Are they a perfect match, heck no! But just glancing at them, you might not be too aware that they are different.
You can see that they are not so noticeable here. Of course there is all of my junk on top already. I am pleased with them.
You might want to do this technique on ones that do match that are discolored or you want to give them an update.
These drawer pulls did not cost me anything since I already had all of the materials. If you are looking for drawer pulls to update, check out thrift stores and yard sales. You can pick up some rather cheaply.
Happy handle updating!
