My Little Squirrel
I had seen him do this before, but then got on his hind legs to drink the water coming out of the top of the fountain. He kept me in his sight. (I had to take the picture through the window)
When I went to take another picture, he jumped down and I only got his tail and back legs.
He next climbed up the feeder to se what was there, but I hadn't put out any seed in the morning.

We have had squirrels at the feeders all winter. One day there were 9 of the little beggers. I dont mind feeding them but they keep the birds out so I have to chase them after they have had their fill.
ReplyDeleteJanice
Squirrels do tend to take over and keep the birds out. I usually chase them too but it was cute to see this one drinking from the top of the fountain. Nine is a lot to have at one time. Wow!
DeleteHave a great weekend,
Bev
What a cute little guy - we have black squirrels now. There were some gray ones but the black ones moved in and apparently evicted the others.
ReplyDeleteHi JoAnn,
DeleteI only was black squirrels one time and now I can't remember where. I use to have red ones up north but only see the grey ones here in Florida.
Have a great weekend,
Bev
Stopping by from UBP. Love your little squirrel great post. In our yard the squirrels' favorite activity is to jump from our tree to the roof, over the roof, and jump in the neighbor's tree. This takes them just over my poor dogs head that watches like a tennis match and drives her crazy.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
DeleteIt is funny how the squirrels seem to taunt the dogs, mine too. I have a doxie and she is 13 years old but fast. I didn't know just how fast until she caught a squirrel, actually two of them. Needless to say, she killed them. I tried to get her away from them, but it was too late. Now the squirrels seem to be fearful of her.
Bev
What a cute squirrel! They are entertaining little animals.

Hi Cascia,
DeleteSquirrels are such interesting characters and yes, very entertaining. Thanks for the sweet comment about my blog. I will stop by and spend some time on your blog. I look forward to learning about you.
Have a great weekend,
Bev
Looks like you have the beginnings of a great little garden space! I love the water fountain, I want one for my outdoor space.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love this little area and I am working to get it really nice. The first thing I put in was the fountain since I could see and hear it from my chair while blogging. Fountains are so soothing, hope you get one.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment.
Have a great Sunday,
Bev
Aww - so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting. The picture is sweet but squirrels can be pests. Thanks for coming by and leaving a message. I appreciate it.

@ Eclectic Red Barn
Lovely shots. Pesky squirrel :) We constantly had squirrels invading our bird feeder.
ReplyDeleteI am now your newest GFC follower :)
Hi Abriana,
DeleteThanks for stopping by and being a follower. I like to watch the squirrels but they can be pests. They frighten the birds away and destroy things. Oh, well, I guess they need to eat too.
Have a great Sunday,
Bev
Your little bushy tailed friend is cute but I know how annoying they can be too. We have squirrels and some other cute tiny squirrel like things that run up and down the trees in our backyard. I like your fountain but maybe not as much as your furry friend. LOL. He seems to really like it!!
ReplyDeleteHi Shannon,
DeleteI think everyone has squirrels. They seem to be problems in everyone's yard. They can be pest but this little guy wanted water and didn't care if I was sitting there. The birds come to this fountain and drink and take baths. Go figure. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Have a great week,
Bev
thats a fab picture! he looked so friendly x
ReplyDeleteHi Jamie,
DeleteHe wasn't too sure of me sitting on the other side of the window, but I guess he wanted his water more. I was surprised that he kept drinking as I took the picture.
Thanks for commenting.
Have a great week,
Bev
You can't help but love watching squirrels, they are so cheeky and are quite entertaining - just as long as they stay outside!
ReplyDeleteTI love to watch them too and enjoyed this day as he jumped around. I would not want one in my house that's for sure. The are destructive enough outside. Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment.
DeleteHave a great week,
Bev
What a cute little fellow, very tame!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up.
Squirrels are cute to look at and he seemed tame, but I guess he knew I could not get to him. He was driving my cat crazy however.
DeleteThanks for taking the time to comment.
Have a great week,
Bev
i have seen a squirrel in our tree but he was too quick for me to photograph.you have captured some wonderful images of this squirrel - he is so cute and quite tame isnt he?
ReplyDeleteJenny,
DeleteThey run all over my deck and the trees and I was surprised to see him come to the fountain while I was sitting there. Fortunately my camera was right there so I got lucky.
Thank you so much for taking the time to come by and leave a comment.
Have a great week,
Bev
Squirrel! As a Beagle I couldn't help but comment!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos too!
Hi Maggie,
DeleteDidn't think of it that way. He was a funny little guy.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Have a great week,
Bev
How cool! Hope he becomes a regular visitor :-)
ReplyDeleteI have seen him there a couple of times, but that was the first time I had my camera with me. They are cute to watch but sometimes he knocks things over.
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by,
Have a great week,
Bev
Smart little guy :) I love the picture of him having water at the top. Thank you Bev for sharing him at our ready to waltz party.
ReplyDeleteYes, him drinking from the top was my favorite part. I couldn't believe when he stood up on his back legs to drink.
DeleteThank you so much for leaving a message. Always enjoy linking up to your party.
Bev
Entertaining♫ Our visiting squirrel has played havoc with our bird feeder all winter....we'll be getting a new one since he's knocked the bottom out! My Waltz: http://lore-eleven.blogspot.com/2013/04/barn-light.html
ReplyDeleteI have had similar issues with a squirrel knocking things over in Penna. They basically destroyed the bird bath. This one is sturdy. So far not too destructive.
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Have a great weekend,
Bev
What great pictures! Squirrels are such crafty little things! Good thing they're cute! I have that exact same fountain on my deck and I love the way it "sings"!
ReplyDeleteHi Danni,
DeleteI know what you mean about it signing. When we went to buy a fountain, I checked out dozens to find one that "sang". I love to listen to it while I am blogging and the birds and squirrels seem to like it as well.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
Have a great weekend,
Bev
Seeing your squirrel drinking from your fountain reminded me of a funny incident that happened with a squirrel in our yard. We had a jar lid with peanuts on our fence for the squirrels but the birds got most of the peanuts. The lid was still on top of the fence and after it rained a squirrel came by, lifted the lid with its paws, and standing on its hind legs drank the water out of the lid. It was hysterical. Hubs saw it too and he couldn't believe it. I wished I had my camera but it happened so fast. Then it didn't know what to do with the lid so he threw it over into the neighbors yard. It was one of the cutest things I'd ever seen. Thanks for sharing your cute squirrel pics. You never know what they'll do!
ReplyDeleteHello Diane,
DeleteWhat a site that must have been. I can't believe it. They are certainly are interesting critters - but clever and smart! Although the squirrels do drive my cat and dog crazy, they are fun to watch.
Thanks for sharing that story, I love it.
I appreciate you stopping by and leaving your message,
Have a great weekend,
Bev
It must be spring time at your house. Our little squirrels are still in hybernation but should be coming out soon. Today it is snowing - again - Such is mountain life. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathleen,
DeleteI am not sure that 85 degrees is spring time. We seemed to have had a short spring this year here in southern Florida.
This is a little too hot for this time of year but I guess it beats the cold.
Your winter has been long and I am sure though it is beautiful in the mountains.
Have a wonderful week,
Bev
Cute photos of your squirrel! So far, I've only seen one squirrel in my yard. I would like to get a fountain for my birds.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo through the window of the squirrel and another action photo ~ great post for Rurality ^_^
