Happy Halloween and welcome to the party. I had to go out today and I saw some adorable costumes. One in particular caught my eye - it was a young girl dressed in a 1960's dress and had she her in curlers. She looked so cute. Oh I remember those days with the curlers although we were never allowed to go out in public in them. Any one else remember those curlers - you know the foam ones?

Patty over at Life is Better Lakeside created this beautiful dancing skeleton tablescape that I think is just fabulous! You have to go over and check it out because there are so many cute things on the table that you just can't see in this photo. Things like skeleton hand napkin rings, different scenes on each bread and butter plate, and serving platters on the ends of the table. Her house is deemed the "skeleton house" in the neighborhood, and I think they named it well!
If you need a quick, easy, and inexpensive treat to send for your child's Halloween classroom party, then these Reese's cup and pretzel witch brooms, made by Jen of Cincy Shopper, are just what you're looking for! Her tutorial shows you how to make these cuties in just a few minutes . There's also a recipe that you can print out and add to your recipe book, but I think once you make these, you'll remember how to do it forever!
This feature isn't Halloween per se, but this Italian sausage in cabernet sauce recipe, by What's Cookin' Italian Style Cuisine, looks like the perfect Halloween dinner to serve your family or party guests! Doesn't it look like fingers?! The post says that you could serve it over rice, pasta, make a sandwich, etc. Check out the recipe to see all the options!
This easy Dollar Tree Halloween wreath made by Emily of Hunny I'm Home is the perfect last-minute wreath for you to make and hang on your door to welcome trick or treaters. It looks super simple, like something you could make in under 15 minutes! All you need is a wreath form, black spider web to fluff the base, black creepy cloth, and embellishments. Check out her tutorial to see how easily put all of this together!
This Beetlejuice gnome Halloween scarf made by T'onna of Sew Crafty Crochet is a great scarf for you to get started on for next year since Beetlejuice 2 will be coming out! It would also be great to wear during your Beetlejuice Halloween family movie night (go all out with food, drinks, decor, games & more). T'onna is always making adorable scarves for every season and holiday, so be sure to check her post out for this tutorial and other great ideas!

The weather started out quite cool, even had frost on Monday morning but today it was 76 and sunny. Wonderful fall weather.

Happy Monday! I hope you had a delightful weekend. I drove up to PA on Sat. to see my Mom. Although the drive was long, it was beautiful seeing all of the changed trees as I drove north.
We had a quiet morning and then my sister came up and we took Mom to lunch. She gets tired easily, so we took her back home and then went to the outlet mall to shop or maybe just look around.

Decorative pillows can be quite expensive, especially holiday pillows. Our own Bev of Eclectic Red Barn made these adorable Halloween pillows using Dollar Tree treat bags, so they were only $1.25! She chose bags made of fabric perfect for outdoor decor. Her tutorial is quick & easy, so be sure to check it out and pin it for later. (Be sure to do that with all of our fabulous features!
This Frankenstein card craft, created by Sam of Simple Everyday Mom, is an adorable idea to create with your kids or even to use in your classroom for our teachers out there! This card would be a great craft to create with your kids for a fun fall afternoon together. You could send them to grandparents, aunts, or friends, and they proudly display them year after year as Halloween decor. I still have cards that my kids made in school or Sunday school that I use as Christmas decorations. I wish a teacher had had either of my kiddos make this Franken-cutie!
Jennifer of Studio 27 came up with the fabulous idea of upcycling a Halloween baking pan that she found at a thrift store into a permanent faux cake decor piece. She used puffy paint so that her Halloween "cake" looks like it actually has icing on it. This is right up my alley since crafting is way more fun for me than baking. I don't think I could make a real cake look this great, lol!
For our last two features this week, I thought I'd bring us a few Halloween adult ideas. Donna of An Organized Season created a Halloween Haunted Mansion themed bedroom which is so cute! She has Halloween decor sprinkled throughout the room, like this apothecary dresser set-up. Check out her full post to see all of the bedroom decor. It's amazing inspiration for your own Halloween bedroom!
Need a little adult beverage for your Halloween party goers, one to liven up the night while handing out candy to trick or treaters, or even one to enjoy in your beautifully decorated master bedroom? I am heading to Pittsburgh on Saturday. I have not seen my Mom since June when I was there. I really miss her and my sister. I will be driving, which I love to do but it is a long trip - 15 hours.

Happy Wednesday and welcome to the party. We are having beautiful fall weather here in central Florida - mid 50s at night and low 70s during the day. I am loving it. I actually had my heated seat on in the car this morning. Now don't laugh!
All I need now is for the leaves to change color, but that's not going to happen. At least fall is in the air.
Autumn is a wonderful time of the year. Leaves change color and fall and the temperatures cool down. Here in central Florida the leaves don't change color, but they do fall and the weather has cooled down. It's the perfect time for some fall decorating.

I was inspired for my tray by this Pelt Stretcher that I got recently. I had no idea what I was going to do with it but somehow it ended up on my kitchen table. What I love about creating trays or vignettes is that you don't need to buy anything, just look around your home. (That's what I had to do)
Happy Monday. October is half over and Halloween is right around the corner. We are finally getting some fall like weather to go with it. I was able to have the doors open over the weekend. It was wonderful. This week is to be even cooler. Wonderful fall weather is here.

I love pillows and have brought several over the years. I always think you can't have enough pillows. When I was in the Dollar Tree, I saw these Halloween bags that were so cute. I knew they would make great pillows.
I put them out on my lanai. I love their cute faces.

Holy Moly, today is the 500th episode of the Happiness is Homemade Link up. How crazy is that? Fun fact if you are interested, I started participating back in 2015 as a "Guest Co-Host". Originally the three bloggers that started this fun link up would have a Rafflecopter giveaway" each month to allow a few guest hosts for the month. Fast forward to January 2016 and they invited 9 of the past guest hosts to join as full time hosts.
Overtime hosts came and went and sadly the original three are no longer around but Ducks in a Row, Love my Messy Mess, The Eclectic Red Barn and I have stayed the course. And now we are joined by Decor Craft Design and Life as a Leo Wife. 8 years, almost 9 if you count the guest spots that a few of us have been doing this, episode 103 was January 2016 when we joined permanently.
A Little History of HIH
I love this weekly link up. I know many think they are passe or out of date but to me it is a way of discovering not just new idea but new blogs. I went back in my archives as that post is no longer live on my site to check up on all my previous hosts. And it was great to see who is actually still around, Sadly two of the three originals are no longer blogging.
Well enough of a history lesson lets get into the special features for our 500 addition. Selected by each of us this month not just one host, how fun is that. Another fun fact, original the "features" were Most viewed posts not just our favs.

Midlife Healthy Living has shared a Weight Watcher Friendly Soup that I know I will be attempting to recreate. This Weight Watchers pumpkin soup recipe is so easy to make! My WW pumpkin soup recipe is rich in vitamins and minerals while still being low in points.
And lets follow the calorie friendly recipe with a decadent yet delicious Pumpkin French Toast Dish from Air Fryer Fanatics. Make the perfect fall breakfast with this Air Fryer Pumpkin French Toast! If you are dreaming of that cool, crisp fall air and the smells of pumpkin and apples drifting through the air, then you are my kind of person. This Air Fryer Pumpkin French Toast will be perfect for your breakfast routine!
And from our very own Craft Decor Design this stunning DIY Fall sign. My first Fall project for this year is DIY Fall Sign Gold Dried Leaves. I made a Fall sign out of used MDF board and some dried leaves. Super easy to make and great looking!
And my bonus feature because I cannot share a 500 anniversary post without a Tablescape. I love my tables that is for sure. I was a little sad that there were no Thanksgiving "scape" ideas this week but recognize a lot of you are Halloween focused already.

Happy Thursday dear friends. My week has been sort of quiet but busy. I decided to clean out the garage while hubby is out of town (one week yesterday and still one week to go) My garage is filled. Lots of project materials and other stuff. I never seem to know here anything is so, I decided to sort stuff.
The problem is, you have to go through things and sort and then decide what to keep, where to put it, and what to do with what you don't want. By night time, I am tired. You don't get to just sort, do laundry, watch what the puppies are doing, Antony has decided to start digging in my flower beds and my yard. Oh the joys!
