A Very Interesting Rose
I have been growing roses here in Florida ever since I moved here fifteen years ago. The roses have been one of my favorite plants to grow since they have performed so well. When we moved to central Florida last year, I purchased 2 rose bushes to take with me. One is called Neal Diamond and it has these beautiful pinkish rose color roses. See a picture of it below.
This rose has bloomed so well for the past 10 months in a pot. I couldn't decided where to plant it in the new house, so that is where it has been. It is blooming again but this time, something strange happened. Instead of a single rose on one stem, two roses came off of one stem.
There is one rose going to the left and one to the right. I don't know if you can see that there is only one stem but two roses.
The rose on the left had opened up sooner than the one on the right. These roses are still quite pink compared to the rosy color in the first picture as they are in full bloom in that one.
When working with roses, you need gloves and these gardening gloves are perfect for the job. They are thorn resistant so they are perfect for pruning roses.
The top or the one on the right has pushed the other rose off to the side. They are beautiful but something I have never seen. This rose has an incredible smell. It is so lovely.
Have you ever seen two roses at the end of one stem?
What beautiful roses. My mother had such a green thumb when it came to flowers. I always think of her when I see beautiful flower plants. We lived in Idaho so her selection was somewhat limited but there are always flower that can be grown no matter where you live. Rose plants always remind me of the beautiful roses that my grandfather grew in my grandparents' yard after he retired from the farm and moved to the city. They had a huge yard and it was full of beautiful flowers. Thank you for sharing your beautiful roses!
ReplyDeleteAmy,
DeleteHow sweet that they remind you of your Mom and grandparents. I love having roses and this one is special. I don't know if I have a green thumb or not but enjoy growing them.
Have a wonderful week.

Bev
