Happy Thursday! I am still in Vermont. It was 1 degree last night and 9 degrees tonight. This Florida girl is cold. The sun was out, which helped. I had to go outside and I thought I had forgot my pants, my legs were so cold. I am enjoying the grand kids however.

Here we are in the last week of January. The new year is starting well and the month is flying by. I am in Vermont and enjoying my time with the grand kids while their parents are away - great grandma time. 

The ground is covered in snow ans the temps are around 30 degrees. The last two days have been quite overcast with grey skies and some snow flurries. It is warm inside and I have a Chai Latte to warm me up.

It's Monday morning and a new week has begun.  I am heading to Vermont this morning. I had a 7 o'clock flight. Yikes, I had to get up at 3:45. I hope I can sleep some on the plane, but usually I don't. 

I am all bundled up for the cold weather. Although I saw my grand kids at Christmas, I am still missing them and anxious to see them.

Happy Sunday! I hope you are enjoying your day and you had a great weekend so far. Ours has been very nice. My brother-in-law and his wife is here, so we have been enjoy spending time with them. They just bought a second home here and came down to do some work on it. They will be snow birds for a little while longer. 

I have been doing laundry and getting things ready for my trip on Monday morning to Vermont. I try to get some food in the freezer for hubby - I think he will be good.

Happy Thursday! I hope you are all doing well. We had some really cold temps here the last 2 days. They called for frost yesterday, but fortunately we did not get it. That is cold for central Florida. The wind has been crazy. We have several wind chimes on our back porch and they have been ringing for days. I even hear them at night singing to me while I am trying to sleep.

The cold weather has not only been hitting the north, it is moving into the south. We had temps in the lower 30's this morning and they are predicting frost for tomorrow morning. I covered my garden and my trees last night but I had to battle the wind to keep it covered. My body is not use to this weather. Maybe it is preparing me since I head to Vermont on Monday - it will be cold there.

I picked some winter time themes for you this week and some soups to keep you warm on those cool/cold winter evenings. I also picked a Valentine post as we get ready for that holiday. Have a great week ahead.

When we moved into this new house last May, one of the first things we did outside was to plant some fruit trees. One of them was a Lime Tree. It had 6 limes on it when we bought it and a few more came. I still have 2 limes on it, but now it is loaded with blooms for the upcoming season.

Happy Thursday! Here we are in the middle of January already. We are having perfect weather (above average temps) and I am so enjoying it. I am working on recovering a chair for my daughter. Yikes, I have never done this and it is taking me so long. I want it to be perfect so I keep ripping it apart and putting it back together. At this rate I may never get it done. Hopefully, one of these days I can show it to you.

I am looking at the picture below and although I love to look at snow, I can't say that I miss it these days. I always remember how pretty the Christmas lights on the trees and bushes looked after it had snowed. The lights would be twinkling up through the snow. 

I only get to see snow now when I head up to my son's in Vermont. I will be going there at the end of the month, so I will probably be able to enjoy some snow then. Are you having snow now or is it just cold?

Well I’m only a little bit late for the One Room Challenge, but hey… I did finish. And to be fair the ONLY thing I was waiting on was my light fixture. Through a series of not getting the right light, or receiving the light on time I totally missed the deadline. But it’s done and that’s the important thing! And based on the reveal I have to agree with her. Stunning room re-do.

 

 Something really fun for the New Year, How to Plan A Fondue Party. Organized Island says if you have never tried fondue or have never been to a fondue party, let me tell you they are one of the most social and fun parties ever.

Finally lets share a recipe shall we, A Potato and Corn Chowder from Walking on Sunshine. Potato and Corn Chowder is one of those soups that your family is going to be requesting again and again for dinner. And as an added bonus, it reheats nicely too if you have leftovers.
