Welcome to the party. The winter weather is upon us. I came to Pittsburgh, PA to see my sister. Wow, it is cold here. I couldn't live up north again. I am freezing, but we are having fun.
Have a found a delightful dessert to make for your sweetie? If not, I picked a few from last week that you might want to try.
Welcome to the party. We are still dealing with quite cool temps here in Florida, although not like up north. Plants had to be covered since they have blooms on the fruit trees and vegetables. The azaleas are beginning to bloom but I have too many to cover.
I am heading to Pittsburgh today to see my sister and it will be even colder. I'll probable freeze. It's her birthday on Friday and I thought I would spend it with her. I didn't realize that it was going to be so cold, nut we will have a great time anyway.
Have a blessed week!

Hello everyone and welcome to the party. I am so ready for the cold weather to be over. It was nice over the weekend but then the cool front came in. This coming weekend is to be even colder. I know it is not as cold as places up north and of course, we don't have any snow.
Happy Monday and welcome to the party. I hope that those of you who are dealing with all of that snow are OK. I can't imagine dealing with all of that snow. Do you have power? I hope you are safe.

Please be safe and careful.

We are so loving our organized pantry make-over! Part of that organization was a new hook for our aprons.I tend to collect aprons, but the collection was getting too massiveI sorted through and got it down to a few that we use on a regular basis.
So on the wall just inside the pantry door,I added a simple apron hook.

Happy Monday!! I hope you are all doing great. Things have been good here in central Florida. Some cool weather is moving in this week. We have had some really nice weather but that is going to change.
How is your winter? I know it was cold up north but my sister said it was nice until yesterday when it started to snow again. I guess that is just what we can expect in winter.

For this week, celebrating all that is winter and to deal with all the snow and cold, I chose a Soup theme. Is there anything better than a hearty soup to ward off the chill.
A fresh soupy start, and as I mentioned last week January is back to me, A Labour of Life. So Let's see what you have been up to.
These Great Northern Beans with Leftover Ham Bone are close to soup or stew, thick and creamy, just what comfort food is all about!
Kay from Old School Cooking! tells us her Mother was an old-school cook who made use of the simple conveniences available at the time. She used the ham bone to build the flavor of the beans and followed up with salt and pepper to taste, resulting in pure comfort food at its best.
Flour on my Face shares Beef Barley Soup with a thick and rich broth full of flavor made in a pressure cooker.
Slow Cooker Hamburger Soup Recipe
This Hamburger Soup in the Slow Cooker from 3Boys and a Dog is a favorite of over 50 ground beef recipes in their arsenal of yummy belly fillers! You can adapt the ingredients to better fit your family.
Let’s talk about the kind of soup that doesn’t just warm you up — it revives your soul. The kind that makes your kitchen smell like an Italian restaurant and a cozy cabin had a delicious little baby. The kind that makes your family wander in asking, “WHAT is that smell?” even though you literally just sautéed onions and garlic like the domestic goddess you are.
This Creamy Chicken Parmesan Shell Soup is exactly that kind of recipe.

Welcome to 2026. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. We are off to a new year. I look forward to seeing all of your wonderful posts. So keep on sharing them.
Happy 2026!! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. Last year seemed to go by so quickly. I hope this year hangs around a little longer. I guess the saying is correct, "the older you get, the faster the years go by".
This year I want to try and slow the year down. Not sure if I can do that, but I am willing to try. Did you make any new year's resolutions? I never do, but slowing down might be my first.
Wish me luck!
WELCOME to the first week of the January 2026 "You're the Star" Blog Hop!
Happy New Year Everyone, hard to believe another year has passed us by and 2026 is upon us. I hope your holiday season was wonderful. Mine was so good, I forgot to post the party last night. :)
First off, surprise, I am starting my year off with a pretty Tablescape.
Anne's Entitled Life listed this as New Year’s Eve but it can be used at any party where you have a bar, engagement parties, weddings, Mardi Gras, Roaring 20S Party, the list is endless.
This is super easy to make. You are using leftover Christmas ornaments, an old floral container, and an old candlestick. If you do not have items to upcycle, look for an oversized martini glass, or champagne glass at your local party supply store and use that.
An organized Season brings something food and fun for the New Year. Have you been wanting to set up a hot chocolate bar but are not sure where to begin? We’re sharing simple steps to put together a festive station and providing free labels you can use!
Easy Crock Pot Cherry Jalapeno Meatballs is a sweet and spicy holiday appetizer recipe perfect for all your holiday parties. Flour on my Face sure caught my attention.
For this recipe The Recipe Idea Shoppe uses long-grain rice, tender chicken, and a beautiful blend of lemon zest, Parmesan cheese, and classic Mediterranean spices like oregano and thyme. The result is a wonderfully creamy, rich, and tangy dish that tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen.
Rounding out our almost Foodie week is a French Onion Meatloaf from More or Less Cooking. A cozy and delicious variation of a traditional recipe. I blend juicy ground beef with a handful of ingredients, featuring the essential French onion soup spice blend. Bake this delectable dish that will fill your kitchen with incredible aromas and have your family rush to the dinner table!
