Upcycled Dresser
My inlaws moved to a new place. As we were clearing out their old place, there were a number of pieces that they didn't want. This dresser was one of them. I liked the size of it so I decided to give it a facelift.
When I began redoing this dresser, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. I was telling my DIL about it and she said she wanted it for her daugher's room. She already had a grey dresser in there but needed more storage space.
The other piece she had some decorative scroll work on it, so I decided to add some to this piece as well.
Here is the original dresser.
The top drawer had these plastic pieces on it. They were about 3/4 inch wide.
Of course those came off. I was able to place the scrolly things over the holes.
For the paint, I use linen chalk paint and added in some dark grey to get this color. I didn't measure, just kept adding the dark grey until I liked it.
For the handles, I sprayed them white. As you can see, they were too while for the piece. So I took some of the dark grey and brushed it lightly on the handles.
The top was in great shape, just ugly. I didn't get a chance to do any staging with this piece, since hubby was heading up to her house and he loaded it up.
So here is my before and after:
She was so happy with it that she didn't want to put it in her daughters room. Instead, she put it in her bedroom.

This looks so good! My mom had a very similar dresser that she gave to my daughter. My SIL had my brother paint it, but it didn't turn out nearly as good. You've given me some great ideas!
