Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend. We had lots of rain on Saturday but a beautiful Sunday with no rain. It was so nice to not have rain for a change.
I didn't get much done outside but I did get the rest of the peaches cut up and into the freezer. I canned a few jars as well. In July, my BIL is bringing me some more peaches. Yikes, I just might be in peach overload. lol!!
Hubby's Administrative Assistant was selling her house and so when he was down there last week, she gave him several things. One of which was an antique highchair that belonged to her grandmother. Not sure why she gave it to me. Today I was trying to sand it and see what I could make of it. Still working that out.

Welcome to the party. I hope your weekend is going well. Ours has been good although trying to get things done between rain storms. We have had so much rain that we have had to drain the pool three times in the last 10 days. Yesterday, we got 3 1/2 inches of rain.
My garden loves it but now our grass is getting yellow spots because of too much rain. Crazy. I try to do things early in the morning. Last night was OK, just rain in the afternoon. Sunday looks like a drier day - let's hope.

Thursday Favorite Things
Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things Party
Happy Thursday! Can you believe that we are still having rain? Wow, everyday, mostly late afternoon thru evening, we get these huge storms. The poor dogs hate this weather, not only because of the thunder but every time they need to go to the bathroom, it is raining.
The garden is certainly loving all of the rain and my blackberries are forming fruit again. That's weird. The squash are getting larger by the day. I have had to put the squash in the freezer because they are ripening so fast.
My brother-in-law came down from Georgia and brought a bushel of peaches. They were so good, but when I had back problems last week, I wasn't able to can any so I cut them and placed them on trays and froze them and then hubby vacuum packed them. I did make hubby a peach pie for Father's Day. It is is favorite dessert.

Happy Wednesday to everyone. I don't know about you, but we are having very bad rain storms. Yesterday the power went out at 6:30 in the evening and came back on at 11:30. It so dark right now, you would think it was around 8:30 instead of 4:30. I am getting tired of rain already and hurricane season just started. On the plus side, we have not had to water in almost 2 weeks.

Thursday Favorite Things Party

Happy Thursday! I hope your week has been great so far. Mine has been good. We had have lots of rain. Today was pretty good with only some sprinkles. The plants, veggies and flowers are loving it.
The rain forced me indoors to work on some sewing. I made drapes for my she shed door and one pillow for outside. I was working on the other pillow when the zipper that I put in broke. No matter what I did, I could not get it fixed. I ripped it out and had to go and get a new one. That was frustrating, but what can you do?
I also began working on a rag type wreath. Hopefully, I will get it finished soon, if it continues to rain. If not, outside projects will take over.

Happy middle of the week (almost) - who's counting, right? Can you believe it is the middle of June? Kids are out of school and summer is almost officially here. Life is good!
We finally got some much needed rain the last couple of days. Although I wanted to work on some outdoor projects, I was able to finish up some indoor projects. I made two pillows and made some drapes for my she shed door. I was glad to get them off my list. I guess rain is good sometimes!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours was great. I got a couple of projects done, planted my banana trees and planted some other flowers. We had some much needed rain yesterday. You can water everyday, but there is nothing like rain water to make things look great. The banana trees seemed to be happy.
The rain also brought the temp down. We went from around 93 to 85. I know I will like that for the next few days. Are you having warm temps or are you having rain and cooler temps?

Happy Sunday dear friends. It has been a hot weekend so far but rain is expected to come today and cool things down. We certainly need the rain. I think it is to be a rainy week but that would be fine since I have ironing and sewing to do.
I got several things off of my list, but 3 more things went back on. We finally planted our mini banana trees. I wanted to get them in before the rains came. I finished two projects that I will be sharing soon.

I love making dips, do you? I find that there are just so many wonderful recipes and I sometimes would just rather eat dips than a dinner. So I decided to have a dip party dinner. It was just family. I asked everyone to bring a dip. They had to tell me what they were bringing so there would not be duplicates.
I decided to make this BLT Dip. The best part about the dip is that it is best to make it the night before. My kind of dip.
Since I had never made this before, I checked reviews. The original recipe calls for 2 pounds of bacon. I was having a hard time seeing that much bacon being used. After reading the reviews, I took suggestions from several and came up with mine.
I only used 1 pound of bacon and that was plenty. I also used Rotel tomatoes with green chilies although you can use fresh tomatoes. (that's what the recipe calls for) Just make sure you drain the Rotel very well.
I cut the bacon into sections so it would cook faster. One person used real bacon bits. That's your choice. I saved some bacon and Rotel tomatoes to put on top.
Aside from cooking the bacon, the recipe is rather easy. Mix mayo, sour cream, bacon, Rotel tomatoes and green onions together and chill over night. Serve with crackers, chips, or my favorite Stacies Chips.
Everyone loved it and wanted the recipe. It is definitely a keeper. This would be great for the 4th of July.

Ingredients:
2 cups mayo
1 cup sour cream
1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 can Rotel Tomatoes with Green Chilies, well drained (or 6 fresh tomatoes, diced)
3 green onions, chopped
Additional bacon and diced green onions
Assorted crackers, chipsDirections:
In a large bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, bacon, tomatoes and onions. Refrigerate until serving. Garnish with bacon and onions if desired. Serve with crackers or chips.

Happy Sunday. Our Saturday started off with a bang and I do mean a big loud bang. I was sitting in the living room drinking my tea when I hear an explosion. I looked out the window to the front yard and saw that someone had hit our mail box and pieces of it were everywhere.
Now our mailbox is solid brick with concrete block inside. The had actually pulled it out of the ground. I run out, still in my pjs and no shoes. I see this guy up the road has stopped, He was pulling a pontoon bout. My neighbor who lives 5 houses up heard it and came down. Hubby is somewhere walking so I don't know where he is.
My neighbor goes after the people who now consists of another family, his Dad and uncle and tells them they need to fix my mailbox. I run in the house to get some clothes on and shoes and call hubby. By the time he gets back, the guys are there and we are cleaning the debris from the road that landed around 60 feet from the mailbox.
The speed limit is 25 and at the end of the street is a park and boat ramps. He damaged his boat so bad and it ripped the mirror off of his truck. I asked if he realized he hit something and he said no. He was 20 years old and no way was he going 25. No one does that on this road.
We raked pieces of brick out of our yard and back around 40 feet. They came back and removed all of the broken mailbox and debris and actually put a post in the ground and managed to straighten out the mailbox from within the brick and screwed it on. What a morning!

Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. I can't believe it is Thursday already. I think with Monday being a holiday, that it made the week go faster.
I am heading down to Davie today to see my friend. I have not been there for 2 months. I need a girls night and she said she needs one too. I know we will be laughing all evening.
We have finally opened up here at the stores and even the library, it is like normal. You only have to wear a mask if you have not had your shots. It is so wonderful to see people's faces, instead of just their eyes.

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Weekend (those in the U.S.) Ours was nice, a little quiet. Our daughter went to Vermont to spend some time with her brother and family. The in-laws came over for a cook out.

I know that many of you don't hang out your clothes. In fact, of the four sisters, only myself and my youngest sister do. My other two sisters never have. My Mom always did and so did my grandmother. I guess we inherited it from them.
I think there is nothing better than crawling into bed with sheets that have been hung outside to dry. Even hubby, ohhs and ahhs at the scent and feel of them.
So when I was in Pittsburgh last month, my sister said her clothes pin bag had fallen apart. I thought I would make her something special.
