Welcome to Over The Moon Linky Party
Happy Sunday! I hope your day has been awesome. We decided to add a screen door to the door that goes from the laundry room to the garage. Sounded easy enough - not so. The screen door went on well but the main door would not close. So hubby decided to take the main door off. OMG, that is the heaviest door ever. I could barely lift it. He had to cut it down and then you should have seen us trying to get it back on. Unbelievable. And of course the door would not close all the way. I wanted to cry.
I told him to cut the floor down, because I was not taking that door off again and moving it. After, grinding the floor down and then adding the piece back in - 3 times - it finally closed. Nothing is ever easy. What a project. Have you ever had projects like that? I think we all have. Have a great upcoming week.

PS My linkups this week are #81 & #82
Angie,
DeleteThese leafhoppers sure did the number on your sunflowers. Don't you just hate that. I get so mad at the little critters as they eat their fill. We were just having the conversation about the tomato worms. I hate those things. Growing up we had to help pick tomatoes and I hated to find one of those. Maybe that's why I hate tomatoes today.
We had Baltimore orioles one year in PA, but never for more than a day or two. How lucky to have them around for so long.
Have a wonderful upcoming weekend.
Hugs,
Bev

All the time, Bev! We just had a frustrating project like your door last weekend while refreshing our kitchen cabinets so I can relate. Thank you so much for featuring my faux barn wood pumpkins, much appreciated! xo

Ugh, what a nightmare of a project. We have so many small things we need to fix in our house that we're just not doing right now. With our daughter at home, and both of us working, they're just not happening. Thank you for hosting this party :) Today I'm sharing #164 and #165.
ReplyDeleteSuchot,
DeleteWith hubby at home all the time, I try to get him to finish much needed projects. it actually took him two weeks to do the screen door and fix the solid door. They can be daunting. I have to tell you about bread making. My Mom can make the best bread and rolls. People use to pay her to make them. If you could have seen how she di it you would laugh. I wish I had taken pictures back then. (She no longer does it) We had an enclosed porch off the kitchen and it got warm in there so she put her dough out there to rise. She would get busy with 6 kids and forget about it. The dough would be over the bowl and going down the side of the cabinet. She would just gather it up and punch it down and make the best bread. I tried to make it but she had no recipe and told me just to "feel" it. Well, I wasn't sure what I was "feeling". Needless to say, bread making has not been one of the things I learned from my Mom.
Hugs,
Bev
Hi, Bev; those "simple" home improvement projects always end up being more involved than what we were planning, but it feels great when they are done, right? Thank you for hosting another great party, I am sharing #166 and #167 with a recipe for homemade Mexican chorizo and a few recipes to cook with it. Have an awesome week!
ReplyDeleteIrene,
DeleteYes, those simple projects never seem to be simple. But we were so excited when it was finished. Love the new door. I would love to try making chorizo. I have pinned it to try one of these days.
Hugs,
Bev
Thank you for hosting the party. It seems to me that all projects turn out like adding your door. I know that they don't, but in my head the project always seems to work out better than when I actually do the project!!! Our links this week are: #169, #170, & #171. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteAmy,
DeleteI hear you - they all seem so easy until I start them and then they go downhill. lol!
Pumpkin cinnamon rolls sound awesome. You can't go wrong with cinnamon rolls.
Hugs,
Bev
