Welcome to Over The Moon Linky Party
Happy Sunday everyone. I hope your weekend has been great. Mine was rather stressful since our doxie - Louie had a bad weekend. I had to take him to the vet on Friday because he was having problems with his back. Dachshunds are notorious for back problems. He is restricted to what he can do, since damage, if not take care of, can result in paralysis. He is in a crate and I have to carry him outside to go to the bathroom and back in. I carry him around a lot. Although he is only 18 pounds, he gets heavy after a while.
He is doing much better today but you can't forget that it can take 4 - 6 weeks for full recovery. At least it looks as though he will not have to have surgery.
My favorite part of these parties is reading your comments. I feel like I get to know you and that we are almost like "texting" back and forth. You share your stories with me and I share mine - just like friends. So keep them coming.

Marilyn,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet comment about Louie. He is doing better but I know it will be a long road before he is healed and then I will have to keep it from happening again.
Have a great week.
Hugs,
Bev
Hi Beverly. I hope Louie's back improves swiftly. How old is he ?
ReplyDeleteNaush,
DeleteThank you for your kind words about Louie. He is 7 1/2. Back problems in dachshunds can occur at any age, but he is still young. I hope he continues to heal and we don't have to do surgery.
Have a lovely week.
Hugs,
Bev
Hope Louie gets to healing quickly! I had to take our dog to the vet on Friday too! She has dermatitis and sometimes sores get infected on her back. So a round of antibiotics and steroids for my sweet Ginny. You hate it when they don't feel good.
ReplyDeleteI am #'s 29-31 this week: Small Batch Refrigerator Dill Pickles, Greek Salad with Chicken and this week's Happenings on the Homestead.
Have a great week!

Melissa,
DeleteOh no, not you too. I hope your Ginny feels better soon. Those steroids are miracle meds. Our babies are so precious to us. Sounds like you are having a great crop of peppers. Those pesty rabbits. We have birds eating our blackberries no matter how much I cover them up. I am still staying home as much as possible. Some things are plentiful but pricey while others are still hard to find. Have a great week.
Hugs,
Bev
Thank you for another GREAT party full of inspiring ideas and recipes. Hope Louie is feeling better. I love this week’s features. I brought my updated Chicken Cacciatore, Balsamic Fruit Glaze and Blueberry Lime Cheesecake. I hope you have a GREAT week.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope that your doxie gets well soon - I totally understand and hope that you take care of yourself also (when I am stressed it always affects me physically).
ReplyDeleteThanks again for hosting!
Angie
PS My linkups this week are: #56 & #57
Angie,
DeleteI bet you are enjoying all of the veggies from your garden. You always have so many tomatoes. I remember canning bushel after bushel with my Mom. Maybe that's why I hate tomatoes today. I love all of your pictures when you were little.
Louie seems to be a little better, but trying to keep him quiet is a chore. I have been exhausted. Hubby is on his way home which will help.
Hugs,
Bev
Thank you so much for featuring my raspberry cheesecake bites! I am so sorry to hear about your dog but am relieved to heat he won't have to have surgery anyway. Hopefully several weeks of TLC will have him healed up.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting each week!!
Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Awe, I hope Louie is feeling better soon. I remember how stressful that is when you have to carry your dog to and from because of health issues. Thank you so much, Bev, for the repurposed garden flowers feature! A little late to the party this week with links in 93 & 94.
ReplyDeletePoor sweet pup. It is so hard when our animals aren't feeling well. Will you have to carry him for the whole 6 weeks until he's recovered?
ReplyDeleteToday I am sharing #129.
Hugs Bev!
Suchot,
DeleteHe is doing better but slowly. I don't know if I will have to carry him for the whole time, I don't think so. We will find out more on Friday when he goes back to the vets.
Love your tips to pay off your mortgage.
Hugs,
Bev
Hi, Bev; my best wishes for Louie's speedy recovery! Thank you so much for hosting and especially for featuring my Mocha Cake; this week I have three recipes to share: #147 Alambre - A Classic Steak Skewer, #148 Chicken Alambres, and #149 Two Creamy Green Sauces. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting another party. I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. I hope that he gets well soon. That is hard on your dog and on you. Our links this week are: #155 & #156.
