Happy Sunday! It is the last day in May. I think this year is going to be like last year - it goes way too fast. I guess when you gt older, you want the days/months to slow down. We had a gorgeous day. Did lots of yard work and cleaned my front porch. How was your day?

Hello my bloggy friends. It is the last day in May. I remember talking to my Mom in April and she said I don't think I can go another month being isolated. Well, we did it. May is almost done and June is right around the corner. More and more places are open and it is easier to find groceries and TP, and other supplies. I find that people are wearing masks more than when it was at the height of the virus. Not sure why, but maybe because more masks are available.  I still don't venture out much but my daughter and I did go and get some flowers and soil. We had a nice few hours together.

Happy Thursday! Well, this will be the last TFT party in May. Can you believe that? June is coming and here in Florida, kids will be finishing their home studies this week. I saw that some places are registering for some summer camps. I feel for all of you that have kids and look forward to summer camps for the kids and wonder what will happen this summer. It has to be difficult.

Happy Memorial Day.  I don't know about you, but we are having a quiet day at home. Doing some yard work, a few projects and relaxing. My daughter is coming over for a cook out later. I know some people are heading to the beach. I saw pictures of hundreds of people at Atlantic City at the beach.  I just could not be in a crowd like that.

Trees Bathed in Sunlight

The other night, we were outside as the sun was beginning to set over the lake. The red/orange glow on the trees was so beautiful.  I ran in the house to get my phone. It was amazing. It lit up the trees. 

As I was taking that picture, I realized that the whole yard was bathe in sun light. I have never seen it like that before. 

I managed to get another picture just as the sun was beginning to set. You can see all of the oaks are glowing . it didn't last long but it was a beautiful sight. 

I hope you enjoyed seeing this different sun set.

Happy Memorial Weekend. What are your plans for this holiday? I saw so many campers when I was coming back from Ft. Lauderdale. Some said they were going no matter what. We are home. Just doing things around the house. I had to weed my garden, replant some flowers and fixed a broken plant stand. We did Thai takeout last night but the rest of the weekend we will be grilling out.

Happy Memorial Weekend. This holiday may be a little different than ones in the past, but that's OK. I see more people walking these days or riding bikes. Just spending time with their family. Maybe slowing down a little is a good thing. 

The thing that I miss the most is hugging. I can't wait for the day to hug my daughter, family members and friends. That will be a great day. In the mean time, I can still see them even if they have masks on. Those masks do free you up to skip makeup though.

My husband loves brownies and I like to find new ways to make them. When I saw this recipe on Martha Stewart I thought he would like them. Her recipe called for making home made brownies. I already had a box of brownie mix so I decided to use that instead.

Also, she used chocolate chunks and I decided to use dark chocolate chips.

Hello Bloggy Friends!  I hope everyone is healthy and maybe getting to go out a little. I haven't ventured out much except I did go to the grocery store. A few more stores opened up but I will wait a while before going to them. What is happening in your area?

Welcome to this week's features. These are just a few of the things that I really enjoyed reading from last week's entries. There were so many good ones to choose from. 


Have a look at this spring table from It All Started with the Paint. It's so fresh and clean with pink and grey. I love the lanterns Linda, wishing you had said where you got them. Don't miss the double sided table runner on Linda's table. She has a tutorial for it.

Next we have a beautiful spring wreath from Yvonne at The Stone Gable. I'm always drawn to this blog whenever I see her photos. It doesn't look that difficult to make either. I had to order the black and white ribbon right away (even though you can't get it until June).

This one caught my eye because I'm so eager for a night out. This list of quarantine date night ideas from the Lou Lou Girls got me thinking. I wish I lived in some place with a view like this.

The next feature is a paper craft. These cactus paper cards are so cute. I haven't done much with cards, but this makes me want to try. This is from Antonella at White House Crafts. She has so many cute paper cards.

The last feature is part of a one room challenge series with Better Homes and Gardens. I would love to try one of these, but for now I will just have to live vicariously through Kathryn over at The Dedicated House. She is transforming her daughter's bedroom, but here is her breakfast nook from her entry in the 2017 challenge.

Thursday Favorite Things

Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things!

Happy Thursday! Can you believe that we are almost half way through May. I think we are going to have one of those years where it flies by. Maybe it is because we are having so much work done on our home. We have had more contractors here than you can imagine. One day, we had three different ones all working at the same time. I think I just want it all to be done. 

The pool is done but there is still so much to do around it and the yard. By Friday, all the sod will be done and the side patio. The last contractor will not be here for another 2 weeks. That's OK, I can enjoy the yard being completed. No more sand and dirt.
