Happiness Is Homemade

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade Party

Welcome my friends! I am so glad that you stopped by to share a moment with us. I hope you are all well and are continuing to adjust to all of these crazy conditions. One day we will look back on all of this and maybe wonder "how did we do it". Stay strong, we will rise again, even stronger than ever.

Thanks for joining us again this week at Happiness Is Homemade - here we are in week #8 of quarantine (in Western New York anyways!) but we've been so busy with teaching from home that the time is flying.  I hope it's the same for all of you out there!

I had a great 39th birthday with my family - tuna melts for lunch (yum), marinated pork loin with butter potatoes and asparagus for dinner (double yum) and a sunny spring yellow cake for dessert (triple yum)!  My husband and boys made me feel very special and loved.  The six-pack of Stella (my favorite mommy beer!) was the cherry on the sundae. :D

For my features this week I found so many food posts that I couldn't leave any out, so get ready to tantalize your tastebuds!

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #320 Features

I keep a large pot of herbs outside on my deck in the summer but because we live in Western New York, they gotta come in for the winter months. I had a really cute Rae Dunn set of pots but you can guess what happened to one of them.  This tutorial for Farmhouse Style Herb Planters from Pamela of DIY Vibes is the perfect fix to my problem AND much less expensive! :D

Fun fact - scones are actually super easy to make!  These are my favorite baked good to enjoy with a cup of coffee - I'll be trying these Easy Blueberry Scones from Kristy of Mommy Hates Cooking shortly.

In my house with two boys under the age of 10, we go through ranch dressing more quickly than toilet paper (lolololol quarantine joke lololol!)!!!  They have always asked me to make it from scratch but I was worried it would spoil - DUH it will be gone within DAYS!  I am going to try Keri Lyn's recipe for Easy Homemade Ranch Dressing  from her blog She Saved cause really - how bad could it be?!?!?!?!

So I don't even think I need to provide an explanation for this one - THIS JUST LOOKS SO FUN AND YUM!  Click and Pin ya'll - Campfire Donuts Recipe from Sarah at Must Have Mom, total no-brainer.

You can clearly see where my mind is this week - EATING EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!  I've always wanted to try making a Tres Leche Cake, it sounds so exotic and sexy don't you think?!?!?!!?  I also have to believe this would be a great light (in texture, lol) dessert for the warm weather.  Thanks to Tracey from The Kitchen Is My Playground for sharing this with us!

Thanks again for joining us at this party - remember to click around and visit all the wonderful inspiration our party has to offer!

Thanks so much for visiting!! Yesterday i spent the day getting the front porch and yard decorated with all my garden things...All I will have to do is plant my annuals in my pots but that will not happen until the 3rd week of May when the threat of frost has past...I hope you are enjoying the weekend!
Thanks so much for continuing to host during this health crisis, spreading beauty, laughter and information!! Stay Safe, Healthy and Happy!!

  4. Thank you so much for featuring my herb pots. Sounds like you had a great birthday. We are celebrating my daugter's 17th birthday today. It's so hard during Covid to make it special but we are trying with a few drive bys from friends and family and lots of decorations, her favorite meal and dessert. Have a great week!

    1. Pamela,
You are so welcome for the feature. Yes, trying to do celebrations during this time are challenging. I do find it amazing how creative people are in trying to celebrate. I know she enjoyed it anyway. I am sure you made it special.
