Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things!
It is time for another Thursday Favorite Things Party. I am glad that we are able to continue with our parties since it is nice to connect with friends in this difficult time. It is a way to reach out and let you know that we are all in this together.
Toilet paper is still in short supply if at all. Some of you may remember when catalog pages were used. Ouch! Unfortunately, we don't have catalogs these days. What's a person to use? Aren't you glad you don't have to use that? Ask your grandparents about it? If you have any stories, please share them. We all could use a good laugh!
Hubby went to Publix (local grocery store) yesterday morning and there were all of these people standing , next to one another, outside the doors, waiting for them to open. He thought, what about social distancing? He should on the other side of the street. If you have any stories, please share them. We all could use a good laugh!
I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. My prayers are with you.

Hi, Bev! Toilet paper, canned soup, rice, and frozen veggies were some of the items I noticed being in great demand yesterday, when I ventured to the supermarket; I was pleased to see that people were still generally polite and not hoarding products. Thank you for hosting another great party, and special thanks for featuring my Baja Style Fish Tacos. This time I am sharing #53, another recipe for fish tacos, from the state of Sonora, just East of Baja California; they are unique because the filling is made with hot-smoked fish. Have a safe and healthy week!
ReplyDeleteIrene,
DeleteYou are so welcome for the feature. We were able to get some frozen items yesterday. It seems people were saying they had no more room in their freezer, but we almost forgot that we have a full size fridge in our motorhome so we put some items in there.
I have to tell you that I made your Baha fish tacos last night and they were awesome. Everyone raved over them. My husband said this is a keeper.
Hope you are all well.
Hugs,
Bev

I'm sharing my spring mantel decor using thrift store finds, #18. Thanks for keeping us occupied today with a link party!
ReplyDeleteIt really is nice to have the internet and blogs and blogging to feel connected to people. Thanks for hosting your link parties. Today I'm sharing #71, 72, 73. (I'm writing more on the blog because more time at home!!)
ReplyDeleteLuckily we still have toilet paper right now, but I've noticed a few leaves are starting to get bigger behind the house. Just in case. haha!!
ReplyDeleteMichele,
DeleteYou brought so much laughter to my day. I love the leaf idea. You never know. These are desperate times. Hope you are well and safe.
Hugs,
Bev
And I meant to say thank you so much for featuring my painted wood blocks!!
ReplyDeleteMichele,
DeleteYou are so welcome for the feature.
Stay safe and healthy.
Hugs,
Bev
LMBO (no pun intended) at the catalog pages reference. Thank you for featuring my Beef Ragu, a family favorite of ours. And thank you for another GREAT party full of inspiring ideas and recipes. I love this week’s features. I brought my Apricot Cherry Galette, Chicken Fricasse and Fiesta Chicken Lasagna. Have a GREAT week.
ReplyDeleteMine is not a funny story... but standing in line at Target this week before the store opened (I got TP!), there was a senior about 5 people in front of me. Everyone was very gentle and kind as we waited for him to hobble into the store. It was good! I'm at 103 and 104 this week, Bev! Praying for everyone!
ReplyDeleteThe same insanity is going on here too, Bev. Stay safe and healthy!
ReplyDeleteHey Beverly
ReplyDeleteI am #'s 141-143 this week - a little late to the party today. We stopped at the store after work. In our area, they cannot keep up with the demand for fresh meat and bread. Of course the TP was all gone as was most of the paper towels. Many items picked over pretty good.
Here's your laugh for the day...No vienna sausages! Of all things! I hate them. Just the thought of them makes me gag. I once got sick at the age of 6 when my mom chopped them up in spaghetti - o's. I haven't eaten either since then!

Thanks so much for hosting! I’m linking up today with HAPPY ST PATRICK’S DAY – CLOVER ALTERED ART, THIRST QUENCHING AWESOMENESS (BOTTLE 65 WORDS PROMPT), and THE COLD POOL (SOMNAMBULIST 78 WORDS PROMPT). I have 3 link parties going on right now, I invite you to come and link up with me.
ReplyDeleteWhile I agree a sense of humor is imperative, I am not ready to laugh about anything virus related yet as my heart is aching. Seeing the lack of distancing is disheartening to me since I have a chronic illness and will have a tough time fighting the illness so many are likely to contract. Sharing inspiration at 172, 173, and 174 today and sending you peace right where you are. Thanks so much for gathering these inspiring creators, Bev - it's a wonderful way to connect. xox
ReplyDeleteI will never take toilet paper for granted again. All stores in my town are totally out of it (we will be ok for another couple weeks before toilet paper creativity begins - lol).
ReplyDeleteI hope that you are well.
Angie
PS My linkups this week are #180, #181 & #182
