Happiness Is Homemade

Welcome to Happiness Is Homemade!

I am so excited that you have stopped by our party. I hope your weekend has been going well. Mine is OK. Car issues are never a joy. We drove up to our other house on Thursday and the trip was rather uneventful until we were about an hour out. We could tell the car was not doing well. At first we thought we had gotten some bad gas but the closer we came, other issues started to happen. Long story short, we did arrive safely but now need our transmission fixed.  That, we were not expecting and we have to leave it for a week. We keep a second car here that is old, so we are hoping it makes it home.

Now a few words from your HIH host for February:

Welcome to the party! I hope everyone survived the cold last week. It is just hitting us here in Southern California after 4 days of rain. It is nice to see the sun, but it is so cold my 10 year old actually put on a sweatshirt without arguing! Our features from the amazing posts shared at last week's party are "I'll take Potpourri for 1000, Alex", a little of this and a little of that. I hope you take a moment to visit the featured blogs and our hosts too. ~Audrey from Munofore

All That's Jas shared this lovely South African No-Bake Milk Pie. I fell in love with the pretty cinnamon sprinkle on top (and the pie sounds delicious). Classic South African dessert recipe with a custard-like filling and a delicious crust.

This Upcycled Thrift Store Heart Table is over on Chas' Crazy Creations. I love the antique white look so much better than the original.
Hannah from Handmade Weekly made this cute Personalized Dog Treat Container and shows you two ways you can make one of your own. DIY Personalized Dog Treat Jar

The Painted Apron has a lovely collection of Long and Low Decorating Ideas to inspire you.
Finally, I had to to share this photo essay by Mary from the Boondocks Blog about the Hudson Square Area of NYC. Graffiti of Snoopy on Garage door, A monumental Surprise at Hudson Square in New York, theboondocksblog.com

  3. Bev,
As always, thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind and encouraging comments!! Yes, we did have a bit of warm weather in the beginning of the week but it was 13 degrees this morning and snow and ice is predicted for the next few days.....Winter usually does not release it's grip on this part of the country until April....I hope you are having a great weekend!!
    Hugs,
    Deb
