Decorating Cloudy Old Bottles
When you are done, yours could like this these.
These bottles were easy to update using four materials, not counting the bottles.
So let's get started decorating our bottles.
You will need the following materials:
Bottles
Wire
Ribbon
Old key
Sheet music
You can use any old bottle. I have quite a few of these, so I picked three that seemed to go together. I also have lots of old keys or take some new ones and put them in vinegar overnight or check Pinterest for other aging ideas. Any wire will work and ribbon of your choice.
All that is left is the sheet music. I like to soak mine in tea and then let them dry. I was in a hurry so took some stain and rubbed it on the sheet music and then let it dry. Not bad.
When the sheet music was dried, I cut a strip to fit the bottle and then glued it in place.
Next, I added the old key. I just wrapped the wire around the bottle and then hooked the key. I didn't get too fancy since the ribbon would cover it.
Finally, I tied some ribbon around the wire, just above the key.
You could add berries or some other decoration to yours. After Christmas, I can change out the ribbon and still use them.
This was an easy and quick project to do. The only thing that took long was waiting for the sheet music to dry.
I was going to put them on my buffet, but then decided that I would prefer to have them on my kitchen table.
Berries and pine cones with fresh flowers finish off the arrangement.
So if you have some old cloudy bottles that need a make over, this might be for you. They can be decorated in so many ways. Mine are rather simple, but I like them that way.
