I think we are still waiting for the shoe to drop. She would do better and then have a set back. She did not want to eat so we had to have a feeding tube put in. That was over three months ago. While she had the tube in, she would still eat, but not consistent.
Finally, about three weeks ago, she started to eat well. At her doctor's visit, she was just shy of 6 pounds. Yeah!! That was up from 5.2 lbs. So after three months with a feeding tube, the tube came out. She was like a different dog. Playing with the other dogs and eating exceptionally well. She would not drink water however.
She did lose some weight after the tube came out because she was getting 6 meals a day ( I gave her 3 doses of liquid food through the feeding tube as well as three regular meals), and now only three regular meals. Since then, her weight is back up and she continues to play and run around. She started to drink some water so we are hoping we are over that hurdle as well. Time will tell.
What a happy little girl she is. She still has to gain about 2 1/2 pounds to get back to her original weight but she is still our miracle. You can see she still looks quite thin.
We can't thank her vet enough for not giving up on her when others thought she should be put down. We would not have this precious little girl now without her. God answered our prayers and have allowed us to have this precious little dog that has brought so much joy into our lives.
