I placed some items in the top of the box that I have collected over the years - small mirror, gloves that were mine, shoe pin cushion, little iron pitcher, pearls, and a photo of me at 6 months. Notice the lack of hair. Didn't have much until I was 2 and then it came in curly and is still that way.
The little heart pillow has seen better days, but I love it. This was not one of my shoes, but it found it and it needed to be rescued since it was all by itself.
I remember when we wore gloves to church, especially on Easter. I saved two pairs that I wore when I was around eight or nine.
I added some vintage thread spindles and a milk jar with some of my marbles when I was little.
Although I love to paint furniture, I don't think I will be painting it anytime soon.
It is nice to look at these items and remember. Do you have any special pieces from your childhood?

It's one thing to paint an unknown piece, but your memories of this dresser supercede a passing fad. Your display is wonderful! I'm glad I hopped over from Treasure Hunt Thursday!

What a lovely treasure of memories you have on your dresser...and to have your dresser, still too. That is special. Yes...I have a few various memories from my childhood. But, it seems most are packed away as we moved several times and may be anticipating it again.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
How fun to still have those lovely items from your childhood. I have very few. The photos of your treasures evoke a sweet nostalgia. Very nice post.

ReplyDeleteI love this post as it reminds me of my own dresser with childhood memories and pieces of my grandmother's. Yours are so precious.....love the gloves. I remember wearing them to church on Easter too!
ReplyDeleteI love your collection of childhood memories...such a sweet thing to be able to still have. I also wanted to stop by and thank you for visiting my blog. :)

ReplyDeleteBeverly such sweet treasures. Thanx for sharing at THT.
ReplyDeleteMy mother was a organized saver. She had a "Baby Box" that she kept for each one of her children. When I gave birth to my first child she gave me my baby box which holds my christening gown, my first shoes and some other precious mementos. They are currently being stored in an antique suit case which is kept my attic. I'm inspired, I think I'm going to pull it out and try to do something with it. Thanks for stopping by and linking up to Fluster Buster's Creative Muster Party! Looking forward to seeing what you're going to link up next week.
