Hi everyone. In this day an age, we seem to be able to buy more and more online than ever, from Amazon, to clothes to groceries, you can find what you need online. Even cheap eyeglasses. So when I received an email stating I could try out two pairs of eyeglasses, I was a little skeptical.
I had questions, like how does it work, will they fit, and will I even like them. I was used to going to a physical location, picking out my frames, trying them on and then they fit them for me.
So I headed over to GlassesShop and looked around.
They had so many lovely frames. When you click on a frame, it has several images of the frame from different angles. They also have models wearing the frames. Some have videos as well.
Happy Thursday dear friends. Hope you are having a great week. All is good here. Can you believe that Sept is right around the corner. Where did the summer go?
Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!!

Welcome to the party. Update on health - I was supposed to start the final set of treatments on Monday but this UTI won't go away and now a bladder infection as well. One of the meds can affect the bladder and they didn't want to give me the treatment with all of the other issues. I am on the 4th set of meds for the UTI and one for the bladder infection. Hope they work. I want to move on.
Thank you for all of your support and well wishes.
There will be 4 different features each week and 4 different feature categories. Just to be clear - this is NOT a themed party - you may link up ANY family-friendly blog posts any day of each month. The "theme" occurs in our weekly features: WEEK#4 HOME - recipes, home décor, antique/DIY &/or travel (this can include anything about your home - even history posts - all while remaining family friendly)
(All features were chosen from the July 2024 "You're the Star" blog hop)
All Hosts/CoHosts will post this blog hop on every Monday of each week.
Please link up your family friendly blog posts below!
It wouldn't be a linky party with YOU!
(IMPORTANT NOTE: by linking up you understand that you might be featured next month and if so, we will use some of your photos from your post - rest assured - we will always link back to your lovely blog. We might also share your fantastic posts on social media. Also, you may link up as many family-friendly posts as you like & YES - other blog hops &/or giveaways are welcome {giveaways and blog hops will NOT be featured though} Thank You & ENJOY! )
Hello, everyone! Hope your weekend is going well! Niki from Life as a LEO Wife is here, and she will be choosing the features for the month of August. If you missed last week's party, you can check it out here.
Can you believe it's time to start decorating for fall for we bloggers & to begin planning your decorations for fall even if you're not a blogger?! This year is just flying by. This week I'm going to be featuring some great fall posts that were shared this week. Let's get started!
Jenna from The Painted Apron shared a super easy way to make a pumpkin with a toilet paper roll. I love doing this during fall to display the extra tp rolls in our guest bathroom. Adding cinnamon sticks as a stem like she did will have your bathroom smelling wonderful for any guests!
It's the season of pumpkin spice, which this pumpkin spice cheesecake donut recipe is perfect for! I absolutely love cheesecake, so this fall version created by Crystal of Crystal and Comp., looks so delicious to me! Cheesecake, sugar, pumpkin spice, and donuts all in one? Yes, please! I've lost over 45 lbs., to a very unhealthy weight, so these look like they could help me add a few pounds back on too. All around plus for me!
Penny of Penny's Vintage Home has been staying out of the heat and staying busy indoors by creating fall vignettes, including this lovely jewel tea percolator vignette. I love the vintage mixer and percolator, and the ceramic cake with the apple pie candle. I bet that candle smells divine! The framed print just brings it all together for a beautiful fall vignette!
You all know that I love a good Dollar Tree project, so this DIY farmhouse fall pumpkin craft idea is right up my alley! Emily from Hunny I'm Home used ceramic pumpkins, paint, and vinyl to make these adorable faux Rae Dunn pumpkins. Quick, affordable, and oh-so-easy!
Another adorable Dollar Tree pumpkin decor DIY that I loved is this rope and twine pumpkin made by Donna of An Organized Season. She used different sized styrofoam pumpkins wrapped with rope and twine then added beautiful embellishments of braids. The spindle "stem" with leaves and curly Q's is just icing on the cake!

Happy Thursday dear friends. Hope you are having a great week. All is good here. I finished my 12 treatments on Monday and will begin the next 4 treatments. These will be more difficult because they will be stronger. Because of that, you have 3 weeks in between treatments. They say you need that time to recover. I guess I will find out next week.
This week I thought I would share some summer drinks. They all look so refreshing.Enjoy!
Have a great week ahead!

Hello, everyone! It's Niki from Life as a LEO Wife here, and I will be choosing the features for the month of August. I'm so excited to see all of the amazing things you have to share this week!
Most of the South has already headed back to school, but some of our Northern friends haven't quite gotten there yet, according to friends of mine. Most of them will head back in the next 2 weeks or so, so I thought I would share one final week of back-to-school ideas. I planned to share end of summer ideas, like decor and such, but I didn't have enough to do a theme. Apparently, I need my features as themed as my decor, ha-ha! So, let's take a look at the awesome back-to-school features, and pray that our friends who still have kiddos at home ALL day can hang on for a few more days or weeks.
Another school year means another round of fall and spring school pictures. Morgan at Charleston Crafted shared how to hang a staircase gallery wall where you can display all of those years of pictures and see your little one growing right before your eyes every day!
Beth over at Creatively Beth shared an adorable idea for a back-to-school teacher gift idea. My mother and grandmother were teachers, and the items that Beth included are things that teachers will be so thankful for because teachers have to spend their own money throughout the year for supplies!
Last week I shared an idea for laminating & reusing a printable for back-to-school pictures to have K-12 cohesive photos, but this week Tonya of 24 Hour Family shared these cute printables for photos, one for each year of school. Now you have cute pictures to put in that senior year photo slideshow (I know, we don't want to think about that day coming too soon!!).
If you want to have breakfast ready to go easily as soon as you get up in the morning or if your kiddo loves breakfast, even for lunch, these breakfast Bento Box ideas from Kelli at 3 Boys & a Dog. There are more than 25 ideas, so your child won't get food weariness like my hubby and I have from eating tacos my son loves EVERY 2 nights! These breakfast ideas travel well, so if you have to eat on the road, you're good to go.
Darcy and Brian has a tutorial for adorable coffee filter sunflowers that is great for little ones. Teachers can use this for pre-school through first grade or so as they discuss lessons on flowers, seeds, or seasons or even just for a fun craft time activity. This is also great for moms to do with little ones left behind while their older siblings go to school.

Happy Thursday dear friends. Hope you are having a great week. All is good here. I actually went to zumba class last night. My first time in two weeks. I was moving slow and had to sit down a couple of times. I just wanted to "get moving" again.
Have a great week ahead!

Welcome to the party. I am so glad you stopped by. I am having a better week than last. Only one more of the 12 week treatments to go. Then I start another 4. They will be more difficult than these so I have two weeks in between treatments. I will take it one week at a time.
Thank you for all of your prayers and encouragement. You are such a blessing to me.
Happy Monday dear friends. I hope you had a lovely weekend. I have been under the weather the last two weeks. I guess this last treatment took it toll. Hubby came home Saturday night. My daughter stayed with me while he was in Vermont helping our son. I don't know what I would have done without her.
Have a great week ahead.
WELCOME to the second week of the August 2024 "You're the Star" Blog Hop!
WELCOME to CREATIVE feature week of the August 2024 "You're the STAR" blog hop! Meet your CREATIVE week Hosts
Hello, everyone! It's Niki from Life as a LEO Wife here, and I will be choosing the features for the month of August. I'm so excited to see all of the amazing things you have to share this week!
Since we're still in the back-to-school season, I will be sharing some more features to help you get back into the groove of things. It's always hectic when things first get started, so hopefully the features this week will help you out!
Donna of An Organized Season has a great post filled with ideas to help you get organized for back- to-school. These tips are sure to help you & include ideas for school shopping with closet organization that will help you have clothes ready every morning as well as organizing a dedicated study area that is important for your child to do well in their studies this year and much more.
These back-to-school printables created by Nicolle of Our Tiny Nest are absolutely adorable! She has four different designs in her post, including blank lunch box notes, a first day of school sign that's perfect for all of those first day pictures (hint- laminate it and fill it out with a dry erase marker to use it through all 13 years of school for cohesive senior photos!), a morning checklist, and finally labels to add to all of those supplies.
If you are a teacher or you will still have little ones at home who are too young to go to school, this DIY weather craft, that includes a lesson and science experiments by Sinea of Ducks 'n a Row, looks like so much fun! She includes free printables to make the craft as well as science experiments, like a tornado in a bottle and shaving cream rain clouds, that are not only fun for littles but will also teach them about weather at the same time. This is great for a pre-school class or even for your 3- or 4-year-old that is heartbroken that they can't get on the bus and go to school with your older kiddos!
Slow cooker meals are a lifesaver for those working moms and dads out there, especially when school is in and there are a thousand after school activities to do! Jenny over at Cook Eat Go shared a SUPER easy slow cooker Coca Cola pulled pork slider recipe that anyone can put together in minutes and only takes a few ingredients.
Once you have your first after school dinner complete, what would be more fun and exciting to your little ones than to serve it at this fun back to school table setting created by Linda of A Labour of Life? I absolutely love this tablescape! It's filled with childlike whimsy, with its chalkboard place cards and chalk on the table to use while waiting to be served or after eating, school supplies as a centerpiece, and writing strips used as menu cards. It's perfect for kids and adults alike.

Happy Thursday dear friends. Hope you are doing great. I am sending prayers to all of you in Georgia and South Carolina that have been dealing with Debby. Hope you are safe.
I picked some tablescapes for you this week. I love seeing them but must admit, I am not good at creating a wonderful tablescape.
Have a great week ahead!

Welcome to the party. I am so glad you stopped by. We were lucky that Debby did not hit us. We had lots of rain and today it has been so windy. Two large branches came down but didn't hurt anything.
It seems that every time hubby goes out of town, major things happen. I filled 3 garbage cans and after they took those, I filled up two more. Then the biggest branch came down and it wasn't dead. It just missed my she shed.
My nephew is coming to cut it up. He just happened to be down here visiting friends.
Happy Monday and welcome to August. A new month and kids will be going back to school. I can't believe that summer is coming to a close. I hope you enjoy your month.
