Happy Thursday! Christmas has come and gone and we head into New Years Eve. I only a few days 2021 will end and a new year will begin. I hope that your Christmas was filled with family, friends and memories and that you will have a new year filled with bright promises, good cheer and exciting times ahead.

We are closing in on the New Year. Christmas is over and the last of the holidays for this year is right around the corner. It is heard to believe that this year is coming to an end. Do you have any special plans for New Year's Eve? We usually just stay home. New Year's Day is pork and sauerkraut.
I don't know about you, but I am so done with cooking. I feel like I have been cooking for weeks. As usual we were talking about more exercise and less food in the new year. I think many of us make that resolution. It certainly is on my list.

I hope you had a Merry Christmas. Ours was so lovely. I must say the weather was beautiful too. Today we are having another 12 for dinner so I have been quite busy in the kitchen. I don't mind since it is so wonderful to be able to spend time with family. We are so blessed and have so much to be thankful for.

Happy Monday. This is Christmas Week and I am so enjoying the time to really think about the true meaning of Christmas. It has been difficult since my sister assed away a few months ago. I have been thinking about her so much and really missing her. I was thinking about how she is having Christmas with Jesus this year and not us. I know she is the lucky one, but I still miss her.
It is always a difficult time when celebrating Christmas and our loved ones are not with us. If you are dealing with this too, I feel your hurt. Just know that one day we will all be together.
Can you believe that Christmas is coming in less than a week? I get so excited for Christmas. What a special time of the year. I have loved seeing all of the Christmas posts. I have pinned so many recipes and projects that I want to do for next year. I just hope that I remember to check them out next year. lol!

Happy Thursday! For some reason, I was thinking that I am doing so well getting ready for Christmas early. I finished my baking today and made out my list for major meals next week including Christmas Day. I was feeling really proud of myself and then it hit me - Christmas is next Saturday.
Yikes, it seems like it is coming too soon. I know I am pretty ready but I guess I wanted some more time to enjoying the season. I love this time of year and try to enjoy each day and the reason for the season. I hope you are enjoying this season as well.

Christmas preparations are in full swing and I hope that in all of the busyness you are able to enjoy the beauty of this season. Spending time with those we love and the joy of giving is at the top of my list! Many you are still decorating, if so, you might find some inspiration in this week's features. Or maybe you are baking cookies, like me. The kitchen smells great. So grab a steaming cup of hot chocolate brimming with marshmallows or a cup of tea and relax by the light of your Christmas tree and enjoy the party.
When I was in Pittsburgh in November, my friend that has a store gave me a wooden tree. I didn't do anything with it until last week. I went to my stash of rusty metal things and pulled my bag of Scrabble letters out and the wooden tree became this.
I started off with the scrabble letters. I didn't want to glue them on so I used glue dots. They will keep them on but I can take them off if I want to. The blue chips are from bingo numbers, they are for the free spots.
I added an old rusty hinge and a door knob plate.
At the top I added another know plate and some old sleigh bells.
For the star, I had a 4th of July one and just sprayed painted it. I used a hammered brown paint.
Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend is going well. I mixed up 5 batches of cookies yesterday and plan on 2 more today. Then I can start to make them. I am providing the cookies for a girls get together from our zumba class on Thursday. It should be fun.
Have you started to bake yet? Do you bake? I wasn't going to make so many cookies, but just got carried away. At least I can give lots out so I don't have much to eat. lol!

Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. I had a lovely girls night with my friend where we use to live. I drove down yesterday and came home today. I also met up with two other friends and had a wonderful dinner. There is nothing like a girls get together, especially at the holidays.
It is so wonderful when we can take some time out of our bust schedule and just enjoy our friends. They are such a precious gift. Do you have any special friends that mean so much to you?

Happy Monday! Well, it's a new week here in December. I am so excited since I have my cards done, house is decorated and gifts are wrapped and under the tree. Now all I need to do is start the baking.
How is all of your preparations coming? Are you done? Did you do any baking? However, I hope yo have a great week ahead.
I needed new wreaths for my front door and wanted to do something different that green type wreaths. Hubby had a pallet in his truck from his brother and I said, could you cut out the boards. I need them.
We cut, nailed and painted and then that pallet became this.
I had seen something similar on Pinterest and made it my way. I used things from the Dollar Tree and some ribbon from last year.
Here's how I made them:
Hubby cut the pallet boards out with out having to remove any nails. If you cut down the middle of the pallet board, you will get boards and you don't have to remove any nails.
Hubby nailed the four boards together It was easier to nail four boards together and then cut out the circle, since some of the boards are different heights, hubby made sure they would not come apart. Hubby does get carried away with nails.
I used a large bucket for the circle.
Hubby then cut out the circle
He wanted to make sure it didn't come undone. I don't think there is a chance.
Paint them black I painted them black. I had some high gloss black paint and gave it two coats. (Sorry no pic)
Add decor I hand did the letters with some white paint. For the "O" I used a plastic snowflake that I got at the Dollar Tree, it was a two pack. I glued it in with superglue and then put a tack at the top where the hole was. Now I know it won't come off.
For around the outside, I had some snowflakes that I got at Hobby Lobby on sale. Even though they were stick-ons, I still added some superglue. I used the smaller ones.
I made a bow from ribbon left over from last year. The greenery was free and the white items came from the Dollar Tree.
All in, it cost about $5 for both wreaths.

My friend gave me this Santa so he went into my sleigh. I have him under the roof so he won't get wet. He is so cute.

I don't bake as much as I use to. I like to but it seems I like to eat it too much. I do make a number of cookies and then give them to my neighbors. Do you bake much?

DIY Christmas Cocktail Ornament Balls
