Decorative Stacked Pumpkins

I love those fall and Halloween stacked pumpkins but they are expensive. I was looking through several magazines and they can be as high as $200+. Yikes! No way I am paying that so I thought of a way to make one for myself.

This cost me less than $2. Want to make one for yourself? I will show you how to do it.

Easter Eggs as Fall Decor?

Easter Eggs as Fall Decor?

My husband and I are recovering from Irma's destruction, I haven't had time to put my things back outside because of all of the downed trees.  Hoping to start this week.

As we were moving things in the garage, I found these plastic eggs. I set them aside and the next day I thought about what I could do with them. Could I use them as fall decor?

These 6 eggs were the bigger ones, around four inches
in length. I decided to turn them into acorns.

Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things. We are still cleaning up after Irma. The landscape of our property certainly has changed. Lost most of our shade from our beautiful trees. We set one of our mango trees back up and will have to wait to see if it survives.

Inexpensive Fall Garland

Scraptastic Saturday Featuredsm

I actually made this fall garland right before Irma hit but was not able to post about it. It will be awhile before I put it back outside. Although our house had no damage, our yard is littered with leaves, branches and topple trees. We had so much shade and now, none really. There were some tornadoes that went through which might explain the extensive damage.

ALERT!! Do you cook/bake with pecans?

As you know hurricane Irma hit hard in Florida last week. However, the rain and strong winds were also felt in Georgia. We left our home in Florida and went to stay with my brother-in-law who runs a pecan farm in Georgia.

The house sits on a lovely lake and it was so peaceful and then Irma came through. Although we did not have the high winds like Florida, they were enough to snap branches and topple pecan trees.

Thursday Favorite Things

Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things. What a week it has been with Irma hitting Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Alabama. I hope everyone is fine and trying to clean up. We are in Georgia and will be heading back to Southern Florida on Saturday. We have lots of branches down but our house was not damaged. Thank God for that. My prayers are with all of you.

Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop

Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop. We have no power here in South Florida but things could have been a lot worse. Lost a lot of branches and a huge ficus tree came down but didn't damage anything.

I pray for all of those that had extensive damage and flooding.

Do you know what a Pittsburgh Salad is?

When I lived in Pittsburgh, PA they had a salad called the Pittsburgh Salad. You could find it on most menus and it was one of my favorites.

When I go to other parts of the country, you might be able to find something similar but not the way it is prepared in Western PA.

So what is so different about a Pittsburgh Salad. Well, it's about how it's created.

Happiness Is Homemade Party 187

Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone. We hope you are having a safe and fun end~of~summer, beginning~of~fall few days. Before I share the Happiness is Homemade Link Party 187 and this week's features with you, I just have to say, as a Texan, thank you for the outpouring of support and prayers for my state. I'm in Dallas, so, except for some rain, cooler temperatures, and long lines at the gas stations (and inflated prices), we have not been directly affected by the devastation experienced by our fellow Texans to the south. You may just think of Texas as a really big state in area, but it's our heart and sacrifice that makes us who we are. As you've seen on TV, we believe in helping ourselves and helping each other, not waiting for someone from somewhere outside our borders to come rescue us. Neighbors helping neighbors. Thankfully, everyone we know personally is safe. I know a lot of Texas bloggers who have had some damage to their homes. It will be a long time before things are "normal" again, but keep those thoughts and prayers coming our way. Texas will rise again.
